Hey guys, quick question for those of you who have the Master Replicas studio scale Enterprise and also those of you who use Paypal.
As an impulse buy (more like warp speed buy) I inquired with a retailer about picking up one of the MR Enterprise pieces. Money is tight, but I thought it would make for a nice collection centerpiece, and given that MR is no more would be a good investment too. The seller was willing to work with me on price but insisted I buy it through his eBay store and pay with paypal. After reading some reviews about the problems people had with theirs, mainly the issues with the grid lines and "seepage" eating up the frosting on the nacelle domes, I decided to back out. Especially since MR isnt around anymore to swap it out two or three times for me if I dont like the detailing on the first one I get (which I understand a number of people did). The seller wrote me back another e-mail stating that these are part of the edition from the new manufacturer that just shipped from MR, which I do know that unlike the tricorder these did come in and they are filling the orders even now as long as the order was placed before the acquisition announcement. He said that he has not seen the problems I was concerned about on these new ones, insisted that they are better quality, and said that he will send me an invoice through Paypal if I still want to pick one up.
Are there any other problems I should know about with this piece that you have experienced?
Do you think its true that on the later part of the edition these problems were addressed or corrected?
Can I insist that in this Paypal invoice he put in writing that the acceptance of the good being delivered is subject to inspection by the receiving party, and a full refund is contingent on inspection once received?
I dont use paypal much so I dont know if that will hold any ground or if paypal actually would make sure I get the refund if there is a problem. I dont think the seller is being shady, but I dont wanna get burned on this expensive piece. If these is still a good chance that the piece with come with problems or I would get burned on the financial side of this deal I would probably rather just walk away.
Looking to you guys for any thoughts and advice.
Thanks so much (and sorry for writing a whole book here)
