Question About Materials for Textured Gun Grips

Hey! Lately I've been working on a 10mm Pistol from Fallout using MDF and plastic. In the image of the gun below, you can see the textured grip piece. Its basically a large knurled texture.

I was wondering if anybody knows a way I could get this texture on some sort of a sheet material that I could then cut to shape and attach to the gun.

The picture does not work, but... If it is a large 90° cross-hatching, you could reuse the transparent prism cover from some ceiling lamps. Many fluorescent tube lamps have them. The individual prisms are often quite large though.
