Hi there! Apologies in advance for the lenghty post.
I recently won this Loki Mask at an auction on Ebay, and the reason I bought it was because I was impressed with how accurate it looks to the original Loki Mask, it doesn't look like the other replicas I have. I knew I needed to have this one!
The colors don't match the screen used Masks, but I think the shapes and details do. Now that I have it at home, I can appreciate it's beauty. The wood grain is crisp and detailed, and it's larger than my other Masks (I was aware that some of the modern replicas are smaller than they should be). It has some minor conditions issues, but it's not a big deal, it adds to the concept of an ancient mask buried underwater for centuries.
I honestly don't know who made this replica or what mold this person used to cast it. The seller (who owns an antique store) was unable to provide me with this information, and was unfortunatelly not very communicative.
I was hoping someone here could help me to figure out the lineage of this mask, perhaps with some theories, or maybe there is someone with some knowledge of Loki Masks that could recognize this type of replica.
One detail that caught my eye was that it has the sunken "L" on the nose bridge, the same way it was originally designed, it makes me think it was casted from an Icons replica (or maybe from an original one? naa, too good to be true
). I know it's not a Reel Art or Goldenarmor Mask, I uploaded photos for comparison. The Reel Art replica looks so small. I didn't know it was possible to shrunk a mold like that. The other one I bought it from loki.mask on IG.
Anyways, thank you for your time! And sorry for the lengthy post. Hope you enjoy the photos.
