question about graphite powder..resin casting related

I usually use talcum powder in my molds when i cast resin as it has a capilary function which draws the resin in those tiny areas that are left vacant when using a spray release.

But, i have noticed that talcum powder suffers from moisture contamination, making the resin foam.

So, while thinking what other powders could do the same trick as talcum without the risk of moisture contamination i was thinking graphite powder.

Any thought?

Thanks,

Marc

I keep my powder in an airtight container with some of those moisture absorbent packs... the 'DO NOT EAT' packs you'll find in some boxes with electronics etc.

Aluminum powder is what I'm moving too next after my shop is rebuilt.
