Question about buying a sheet of aluminum

Im working on a project, and I might need to buy a sheet of strong (but light) aluminum.

About 11"X 6" and about 1/4" thick.

Does anyone know how much something like this would cost, and where to get it, etc??

6061 would be the normal/standard grade aluminum, but you can probably get by with 5052 and save yourself some money depending on application... 5052 won't be as hard and isn't as tough as 6061 but for many applications it's fine... There are also other "stronger" grades but they all cost significantly more, there is a chart on that site that gives a breakdown of the grades...

Alum. roofing Flashing from Lowe's is very easy to use and cut. plus cheap if you make mistakes etc. Used it for quite a bit of projects

Yeah but no where near his 1/4" thick requirements ;)

true but they have others and it would be good for practice runs before you waste time and money on shipping a piece to you :rolleyes

and to add , they do sell plate things there as well depending on what size store your at ..

Hi, I've got a piece of aluminum that is 3/8" thick...and I can cut it to 11" x 6". I'll sell it to for $25 plus shipping, if you're interested. I'm not sure the grade, but it is very sturdy.
