Queen of Death - Huntress build

Suit looks amazing!!!!!!!!
Very well put together.
My Wolf fell apart when I wore it last year, but I trust you did not have this problem.

Thanks guys! Air brush I basically watered down a fabric paint that is airbrush-able I found on ebay. If you desperately need the name of it I can find it somewhere. Only watered it down for the brown and white. The black I finger painted every single dot and used the end of a paintbrush. They are good as you iron the suit after to seal them so it can be washed (but I date not wash it!!)

Hey kitti82,

I've seen only two pictures of your build. I would love to see more details on it however it looks like the photos on this build are no longer showing. It might be due to Hunters Lair-Predatorium switch, or maybe because the topic post is old. Whatever the reason, I would love to see it updated. Or maybe you can put the photos in your gallery.
It looks like a great build to see!

So the Queen of Death is being reborn with a kit from SPGFX!

So far I have been putting the upper body armor together using velcro strapping. Using Kwik Grip contact adhesive I stuck the velcro on. I had to heat gun the armor to shape it to fit my body a bit. It's a great kit and fits size 8 US easily.

The gauntlets needed a lot of sanding to fit my arms and that was pretty easy with a dremmel. I painted the gauntlets and bio with spray paint, will be attaching the bio with earth magnets. With the bomb gauntlet I drilled holes into the windows and have stuck 5mm lights inside and wired them up to a battery, they are orange for now but I was going to go traditional red. See what happens! I like the orange. I can have them stay on and off, or I can add one of those remote control things to make them do different flash sequences. I added the wrist blades using the contact adhesive, seems to be strong enough. They are attached much longer than the ones made by the maker as I like long wrist blades. I also painted some of the dread beads, I will be using gold, silver and bronze in the colour scheme with some black and browns.

I trimmed the mask and leg armor which is all latex, not much trimming to do at all! The open face undermask fits my little lady head well and does not need any foam filling to keep it in shape.

I am waiting on my morph suit to come and I will be doing the lycra skin again. I have been using my original lycra skin for the last 5 years and it's still in perfect condition however I am going to go for a different colour scheme with the Queen of Death keeping to the traditional white and orange.

Let me know what you guys think, I will keep you updated with my progress here as well as my page at https://www.facebook.com/kiticosplay :D

SET BACK TIME! Oops.. I had a blonde moment. I painted my armor without realising the mold release was still all over it so the paint is all scratch able really bad. Any contact and it scratches off. So the last 2 days I have spent removing paint and trying to get mold release off.

Step 1. (To get the paint off) Oven cleaner. Leave for a while...make food.
14555663_10153926431541630_1565605395_n.jpg
Step 2. Scrub with scourer.
14724292_10153926431626630_1187506035_o.jpg

Step 3. Washing up liquid and HOT water. Scrub with scourer.

Step 3. Dry.

Step 4. Wipe down with Acetone (on a cloth).
14724221_10153926432121630_358995645_o.jpg

On the left is acetone/washing up liquid, on the right is washing up liquid only.
14795705_10153926431021630_1969418845_o.jpg

Step 5. Light primer spray, when dry test if paint comes off with a scourer. Comes off? Repeat above steps. LOL yay.

Optional: So finally after all that I tested out a new product. I found some people use an adhesion promoter. Sprayed that on and it's clear. Then I sprayed primer on and did the scourer test thing. Seems to be good now. I have to wait til tomorrow to try paint again. Cross your fingers, if it doesn't work I give up and will call any scratches battle damage!

Also, found this plastic only contact adhesive. Will give it a go later.

This is shaping up really nice.

Anyone interested in a kit or just individual armor pieces, please shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up.

I started sticking the armor together to line it up with the velcro straps. I have used a few different types of contact adhesive. Some work some don't. The plastic glue in the above comment didn't work.

14572813_1145409942207755_5602734564399901043_n.jpg 14671158_1145410785541004_1881545507633522786_n.jpg

After washing up the armor I painted them all with minor parts coming off with the tape.

I did some weathering and hand painted some fiddly bits.
