QMx BSG Signed Induction Order & Dog Tags

I received my EJ0/Adama Induction orders from QMx (also marked as The FX Company with a different address) just a bit ago. These were a limited edition production and I received 20 of 25. I think the price was around $150.

Boy, am I disappointed! This pricey item comes in just about the cheapest frame you could get and the whole "plaque" appears to be merely glued to a typical piece of printer/copy paper, and it's wrinkled paper to top it off... the dog tags and the actual EJO autograph are off center and one of the tags doesn't appear properly printed.

Ya know, I realize that a good deal of the price of this item was based on EJO's signature. But, you'd think a company would put a little pride in something that's a big ticket item like this.

Argh.

That sucks. I didn't decide to jump on these, but I was hoping they would turn out nice, especially for the price. It's a shame that QMx didn't put 100% into these... I mean what will their up-and-coming high end props look like if they can't even do a decent job with framed dogtags?

Yea, that does really suck, I was gonna get a set of athenas but didenthave the cash at the time, kinda glad I dident pick em' up now, just wait for a convention and get a autograph on a set I already have

I just got mine in today too, #17 of 25 of the Adama tags I will say that the frame is a little on the thin side with the thin plastic cover kinda buldging due to the layers being a little to thick for the frame. The white matte doesn't look like a quality framing matte paper, but mine's not creased atleast.

I'm never able to get off for the 'Cons and there's rarely any big 'current' names at the few Cons that are in St Louis. So going in I knew I was largely paying for the autograph which I wanted to go with the DS 16inch polystone Galactica statue I have. It's going up high on a shelf so I'm not too worried about it scrutinizing it day after day... it won't be at eye level view.

Well, this just seemed like too cool a deal to pass up... and I did luck put to grab Adama and he sold out quickly... I think he's a $50 autograph if you're lucky enough to catch him at a con (and I doubt he's coming to Detroit, although Michael Hogan, Aaron Douglass and Kat will be here this weekend). So assuming that EJO is $50, dogtags are another $20... they had $80 to play with to get a little bit better of a display, right? (...and that's customer cost, not their cost).

Anyhow, at least QMx appears to be doing the right thing and is offering me a full refund on my #20 of 25. I just hope that is a FULL REFUND... including shipping both ways.

Got mine yesterday. Had the same wrinkle and it is bulging out the plastic cover... but it is still pretty damn cool. Got Adama 2 of 25.

What's stopping you from putting it in a GOOD frame, with Archival Acid Free Paper?

Cost. I've already spent enough money on this.

Just expected some quality.

Not knowing what you paid, I have to say that if you're ordering anything, it should at least be worth what you paid for it, both in materials, and quality.

I never buy stuff that's pre-framed, as 9 times out of 10, it will be utter crap.

he said in the first post it was around $150.... for $150... that thing better be perfect.

I completely agree. Considering what it was, it shouldn't have been plexi, it should have been real glass.

If these were shipped from a humid climate, it could have caused the wrinkles, or... if the paper wasn't strong enough to hold the weight of the dogtags, and it had been jostled, it would have wrinkled the paper.

Regardless, I myself would have thrown out the crappy parts, and kept the tags, and the little autograph plate thing that they have in there.

I saw that too and almost bit the bullit on it. But now I am in the process of making my own... Just waiting on the Tigh tags I ordered.

That looks fantastic....except for the glue stains behind the chain. I'd start over and wire the chain to the matte if I were you. Seriously, a set up as pretty as yours deserves to be perfect, and that is honestly a very very pretty set up.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about that ... You also can't see the glue that leaked out behind the senior wings. And I'm not liking the patch spacing... But V2 will be better.
