QMx 2007 preview

I want to put that on a plaque and hang it in my office.

Smiley cheerleader applauds with gusto. :thumbsup

Jeeze, I can't believe some of these posts are even acceptable, and that people haven't already been bounced from the board for their behavior to a visiting vendor.

In any case, I really like the looks of that Wraith Dart, and want to know more about it. Any more info on that, QMx folks?

As much as I love Serenity, it would be nice for QmX to consider a mid-scale Serenity ship -- I agree with the RPFer who wanted one between ornament but not as large as 20-inches.

Price is certainly an issue, but the main reason is that I am already struggling to find room to display my MR Enterprise, and it would be nice if there was a 10 to 12-inch Serenity replica for $250.

In fact, I wish MR would have released an ENterprise that was half the size and maybe no lights.

Yeah, I need to save like the rest of us to afford these things, but in the end, it really is a battle to find the SPACE to display them properly. I would rather have three or four cool spaceship replicas rather then just one gigantic one...of coursem in the case of the MR Enterprise, I couldn't help myself as this is my all-time favorite show/ship.

WIll I get the 20-inch Serenity? Would like to, but I'll just have to wait and see if I have the room to display it properly.

I agree, a 12" Serenity in the $250 range would have been perfect, but unfortunately, Serenity models aren't exactly falling out of the sky. What that means is that we (being serenity fans) have 2 options, a tiny little ornament, or a big, reasonably priced model. The ornament would never satisfy my desire to have a model of this ship, so that leaves me with one choice.

It seems strange to me that so many people threw $1000 at the MR ATAT without a quibble, and now everyone is balking at $500 for a Serenity model?

Weird, and I thought the Serenity was going to come in the $7-800 range. If QMX went for a smaller scale, there would be just as many people beefing 'cos they want a big one.

It really boggles the mind that so many people here would and have stumped up over a grand on styrene trooper suits...is the dissent because Serenity is somehow 'worth less'' than Star Wars?

btw, I believe there are garage kits out there on a smaller scale and price bracket.

$1000 for an AT-AT or more for Stormtrooper armor is way out of my range too. I am not saying QMx shouldn't make the larger scale one, just that I wish there was something in a lower price range. Look at how great the Disney POTC coins are and for super cheap, I know that's apples to oranges, but when something is cheap enough for mostly everyone to afford then a TON of people buy it. I also understand that MASS produced items are entirely different than limited number items.

Well. they have done the smaller items, like the money packs and BSG dogtags. But the level you're referring (for Spaceship and the like) is more along the lines of Toys more than collectibles.

Now I can see the possibility of maybe a Mini scale. I believe MR once considered it as well for the Ships, but they never did (or haven't yet) for a reason. May the market doesn't justify it?

Ok, I HAVE to ask as I am
getting pretty pumped up with all the
GOODIES you guys are
going to be offering .

:cheers

Can anyone from QMX say " who "
will be manning the tables at the FX show here in Florida ?
I have only met a handful of folks from here in the PRF
{ all GREAT guys. } over the years and it would be nice to
actually chat it up with a few more.

:D

{ I know Steve said he would not look into this
thread again but I was wondering if he's gonna' be there too ? }

I am all up for the serenity, HOPEFULLY with lights and movement for that price or a little more as stated. Do we know how much the coupon in the blueprints is going to be for yet??

dan
keep up the good work

I would actually prefer a larger model of the Serenity, specifically so that all of the detail can be reproduced cleanly and accurately. Most of the smaller scale, mass-produced, models I've seen have lacked those qualities. Something in the two to three foot range would be excellent. This is a ship I love, and I would prefer a replica that does it justice.

I should have elaborated in my post -- I am delighted that companies are offering LARGE scale ship replicas, but it would be nice if I had the OPTION of choosing a mid-scale replica.

I ended up selling off my Polar Lights C-57D Forbidden Planet ship model because I knew I would simply have NO SPACE to display it.

If you look at it all from a business standpoint, I simply wanted to express my personal desire to purchase replica ships that aren't all in the two to three feet range in size. Perhaps if enough people share and express this same desire, companies will offer ships in mid-scale. To those that desire the large scale, then you have the option to choose that.

I have limited display space, and as I have already purchased the MR Enterprise, I do not have room to display any more large-scale ships. Plenty of room for smal to mid-scale ships, though.

Does this mean I WON'T buy the Serenity when it is released?

As I said, I'll have to wait and see where I put the MR Enterprise, but I don't think I'l have much room left over for more large replicas.

Simply my 2 cents -- not ragging on QmX, simply trying to state my case in hopes that it might influence a decision to offer choices of mid to smaller scale replica ships somewhere down the line.

Gary,

Thanks for more blah blah blah.

Bye.

:cry go cry some more.

I for one can now wait for the serenity ship. i think QMX is doing a great job thus far and have picked some killer items to replicate.

Blah blah...poor me.

Whatever dude.
[/b]

holy cow, just grow the hell up man. Stop acting like damn kid. :thumbsdown

check out there x-pay if you think it cost too much...
its like lay-away...
nice option for big ticket items

I got the impression its the size more than the price that is the issue. A lot of people myself included would love the ship on offer but will stuggle for space to put it.

If there is truth in the axiom "Living well is the best revenge." then you should be spending your time making the best props available and stop wasting your energy trying to satisfy what in certain cases are no more than unsociable malcontents.

You know, retards.

Isn't that right, Darth Goat? Party on Dude. I bet the chicks can't resist that "chugging beer in a Fett helmet" gig, can they?

Best Regards,

I just wanted to say I find your use of the word "retards" highly offensive and quite distasteful. Especially since you compare the people who have special needs as "unsociable malcontents". You are truly a pathetic person for saying such a thing.

Tom

Not to thread hijack, but...

If it makes you feel any better, the term "retarded" is now disassociated with "mental retardation" since most people under 25 or so have never heard of a mentally handicapped person being called "a retard" or "mentally retarded." The dictionaries need to be updated.

The only thing that could veer this thread more off topic would be ......AAAAGH, SPACE MONKEYS ARE ATTACKING.. :eek

Seems like the QMx guys are going to have to have their own personal moderator appointed who can follow all their threads around, making sure that weenies don't crap all over them. :unsure

I agree with Tom on this. You could have chosen different words I think. I doubt any thought was put into the word choice, and no malice towards special needs people was intended. But how sloppy of you. From reading the post it looks like a lot of thought was put into it (or at least the use of a dictionary), and then this. What makes you any better than those you are ridiculing? There is no difference. You slouch to someone else's level, you are at that level. Simple as that. I guess you have no respect for the disabled. From reading the post you may think you are better than they are. Shame. No respect shown. And we wonder why the world we live in is like it is.

Aw, geez Louise, can't we get off the holier-than-thou, "We've never made fun of someone--ever--and are ashamed you have," bandwagon and return this thread to inane comments about whether or not something will come folded and about QMx and their supposed suckiness? I mean really, hijacking a hijacking...when will the madness end?.?
