Anyone try something like this instead of puff paint? It's just kitchen/window silicone. It's like $3 -5/tube. It's flexible and wouldn't crack like puff paint.
As long as you can handle a caulking gun it shouldnt be hard, plus with the added benefit of it being silicone instead of paint, means if you mess up you can just pick up the strand and re-position it because it takes about 5 min to start to harden.
Still haven't tried it myself but I'm looking to test it out in the future.
I'm very new to this stuff. I've read puffy paint cracks over time. I might be wrong. If I ever get to the point of webbing a suit I plan to slightly stretch the fabric it flat, tape the web lines and apply a sealant I have at work. It's similar to urethane when dry and sticks to everything. Application would be similar for this stuff.
this stuff does work I used it to coat clothing for a urethane look, the only way to dye the color of the clear silicone is to use rtv gasket making silicone that you can but at auto parts stores, I used red to create a silicone coating for an arkham city robin costume, came out looking like a rubber suit. its easy to work with and will last forever.
I think that is a great idea! i have one question though: does that come in red? ive searched online but i cant find any colour choice. Im doing a miles morales suit at the moment and as you probably know his web lines are red, and i really want to test this out on it. does anyone know?1
