Psycho-kinetic giga thingamajiggy meter

Here is a piece I did on the Q&D over the Sunday afternoon and Monday night before halloween. Based on the look of the animated PKE meter with Giga meter qualities. Made in sheet plastic and PVC plumbing tube. Had not had a chance to finish the screen yet. It would be nice with some smaller labels like the ones that appear on the proton pack. I'll probably hit it later with a matte finish as well.

That is really sweet. You definitely captured the feel of the animated PKE.

I always liked the design of the Real Ghostbusters stuff- that was my favorite saturday morning cartoon back when it was on. I guess you could say the role-play kid-sized proton pack/PKE and trap sets that Kenner put out were my first "props" as a kid :)

Awesome stuff :thumbsup

Thank you.

Trying to go for a hybrid look between the two props.

Somewhere I saw drawings for the animated proton packs.
They were good enough for reference to make a prop.
Tempted to make one.

that's really cool...i always did really like the animated designs (even if the character models looked nothing like the actors and in retrospect ray looked a hell of a lot like andy richter)...i might have to try my hand at one of these (if you don't mind of course)...on a related note...you wouldn't happen to remember where the animated pack pictures were?...

oh and to e williams...i'm with you on the kid-sized toys...they really are like the gateway drug of prop collecting...

I liked the cartoon pke meter instead of the movie version. Nice job on it by the way. :)

The photon packs have a great chunky look to them and the meter was too smooth so it didn't match. The cartoon meter matches the packs, so it makes me thing that Egon built them both.

That's sweet. I've got a beat up version of the toy I've been meaning to greeblie-up a bit. Did you canabalize the lights out of something else or is it a custom wiring job?

The dome lights are butchered from something else.

The yellow l.e.d.s are from a premade electronics package that you can intall in whatever you like. I saw one guy put them in his PL Jupiter 2 model.

That looks really great. It also looks a LOT like the Extreme Ghostbusters PKE meter. I especially love the main body of it because it's pretty much an RGB body come to life. Shame it's not from a found part, because I'd be making one of those myself.
