@arkangel: I guess it depends on how devoted one is to the source material. While I have a hard time relating to the more obscure Star Trek props or the FBI files from various movies and TV shows, I am a voracious bookhound and would replicate book props that few would recognize. That's the beauty of the hobby -- I can appreciate the zeal and passion of others while quietly being devoted to my own small corner of it.
Today I realized that ten+ years ago I owned John McClane's wallet in Die Hard, even (so much as I am able to determine from the screencaps) to the color. When the little plastic photos insert broke off from its support tab, I threw it away; I could have just as easily replaced it. D'oh!
