Hello every one.
I found some flat Bar stock that has been sitting around. after watching the Colditz castle castle escape and a few season of BreakOut i got they idea to try to hand make escape tool starting with a pair of wire cutters. The only issues is that the internet is rather lacking on reference photos and screen shots from movies. if some one could point me in a direction to where i could get a vague idea what and escape kit contained i would be very grateful.
so far what i think of in a hand made escape kit would be:
Knife.
wire cutters.
lock pick set.
steel wire saw.

and of course a carry kit that would attach to the leg for transport.
i do have some raw canvas (used for painting not jesso'd) that i intend to use for the roll up kit and i can try to get some blue and white plaid sheets for the wrapping of grips.

any other ideas for tools or reference photos gratefully appreciated.

this is what i have so far. the knife blade im sorry to say i attempted to make into a saw back blade and i could salvage it. the wire cutters are roughly the ones from great escape. i make the rivet by hand and have been able to cut medium thickness copper house wire. im going to leave them out side to rust up a bit. still looking for materials for a wrench and a digging pick. so this is what i have done today.

This is what actual WWII issued wire cutters looked like. These same ones were still being issued well past Vietnam. My 1SGT was a green beret in Nam and still had a pair on his web belt during the GWOT/OEF.wirecutters.JPG Most WWII survival kits would not contain wire cutters because they'd be taken away if caught before being taken to a POW camp. Most escape tools in a POW camp would have been crudely made with whatever they guys could find. Yours look good.
