Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (Painted helmet Kit) :)

Re: Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (3D printed)

You will do it unfold in pepakura? Look forward to your unfold, this will be a beautiful start.

It's model and prepared for 3d print, not making for pep:) There are million of poly mesh.

Re: Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (3D printed)

So here is some of my progress of the day. I would say is "almost finish" as I can still see something on faceplate that making me feel uncomfortable :)

Pictures time...

Good night.

This 3-D proto typing is pretty amazing. Makes using clay and casting seem really outdated. I feel like a dinosaur ^_^...

I still like clay sculpting a lot, it was kind of art that digital tool cannot reach. And real art piece to me :) (but I didn't know clay modeling at all… my school time never practicing on that…)

The only sad thing is the helmet prototype is break at the jaw weakest structure area where I apply epoxy to :(

I will start casting it tomorrow at low moisture temperature:) to minimize air bubble to my resin.

Re: Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (3D printed)

Update of the cast.

With onyx black slow cure

Have trying the smooth cast 300 for sample cast as well

Will see which one achieve the best in this helmet for the rest:) I'm also thinking to add another layer of resin to strengthen the parts. Like EpoxAmite... etc

Re: Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (3D printed)

Hey awesome. This is inspiring. Hopefully by the end of today I will have purchased a solidoodle 2 printer so I will be starting to do some 3d and 3d printing work soon.

Re: Project Iron Man: Mark XVII - Heartbreaker (3D printed)
