Print, Mold and Roto-casted Iron Man Mark 45

Molding progress, I decided to make this helmet a split mold due to the undercuts in the vents on the ears and forehead. Will hopefully make the seperation much easier.

didn’t come out to bad. More defects then I would prefer, but nothing a little bondo won’t fix.

Looks like you're going to be finished before me. I hate you. :devil

Lol, I don’t know, this molding process is somewhat new. Unfortunately I had to remake the helmet and might just resort back to fiberglassing the inside. Had some issues cutting the molded helmet apart and created more work than I want to deal with. Will be slowing down a bit more on this to really think things through and make it right.

EVA is easy to work with and great for wear but just doesn’t have the same realism I try to achieve. As far as this suit goes the only silicone will be the gap fillers in the undersuit. Progress has been pretty slow, was just able to add a little gold to the helmet. BAC12BA2-F30D-4F53-A590-B2F591AE9918.jpeg

Tested the first coat of red today on my test peice. This stuff is amazing. (House of Colors KBC11) I would have to say that this almost an exact match for the Mark 48. Cant wait to see how its gonna look with a nice clearcoat on it.

Painted the rest of the helmet and tested the clear coat. Needs some touch up and I plan to wet sand and buff out the helmet after 48 hr cure. Loving the red.24203878_10215087344562067_669920561_n.jpg24282514_10215087344162057_17578329_n.jpg24259523_10215087346442114_1242832376_o.jpg

Nice job bru. Great colour choice. I'd be interested to see how it compares against my own Cherry Red Crystal. Also I'm reminded that I really need to get on with mine.
