Prince of Persia Costumes *Pic Heavy*

I noticed alot of Tamina outfits you could create using parts from actual indian traditional clothing. the heavy embroidery comes from wedding saris or Salwar Kamizi.

oh and hello from new member lol

Posting from my phone, so apologies for any errors. I just saw the props and costumes on display in the lobby of the Sherman Oaks Galleria movie theater. Stunt swords and what look like the hero dagger and necklace, as well as the prince and Tamina's primary costumes.

hey guys, here's some pic of the props

Thanks for the pics, guys!

Risu, did you happen to take pictures of the props and costumes? I would love to see them!

Great idea, Sakara! I didn't think about Sari fabric options.

There is this Folkware pattern (Folkware: Turkish Dancer) that might work for some of Tamira's garments. Also a good place to start from for other garments. Folkware also has a good cape pattern that would work as well (Folkware: Moroccan Burnoose) We'll learn more as more images come out. I'm sure there are plenty of commercial patterns that would work as well...I know that Simplicity and McCall both have a few good Middle Eastern inspired patterns out.

Back home now. The best I could do was a shot of the dagger and a few shots of the prince's armor with an iphone. I don't know how well they'll turn out. Tamina's costume was draped in a way that you could really only see the outer robe, so I didn't take any of that. I'll get them uploaded as soon as they're on the PC. BTW, the prince's armor on display looked like it was mostly made of molded rubber. All the gold paint was a bit faded as well, it was very obvious that the metal pieces around his rib cage weren't metal at all.

i really like the bracelet, i think its really cool.

Dastans silver double-claw ring and rams head bracelet came from Thorn Jewellery here in the UK, but with a price tag of £240 ($350) for the ring (which comes in 2 halfs) and £650 ($955) for the bracelet I think close-enough's might have to do on those for a replica costume :lol

I was at yourprops.com amd see, that Smilex have at his collection Dastan's Main costume.

P.S. My dream is to get original fabric swatches and their names(about meter of each) from Star Wars.Sad,that here there is no man,who would help to get them.

Ok,I just want to add photos, which I have found in internet.

I saw that too, listed well before the cinema release, his homepage links to Elstree props where the Prince of Persia section shows '0 Items' - it's a shame his yourprops page for it only has an image of it taken from google images of the costume displayed by disney at an event...

Thanks for the pictures of the rear - I was getting quite curious regarding the Shamshir holsters!

The leather parts look like they were cut from a pre-tooled leather piece. You can see where the designs just end. Thanks for posting the awesome hi-res and back photos!

Stop posting pics!! You're making me like this costume even more :p

Seriously I LOVE the look of these! Great, detailed shots everyone. Thank you for sharing :)

Well, I've started work on the left arm gauntlet. I bought a bunch of cast brass medallion's that aren't SA but have the right look that I'll be gluing onto the leather parts once they're done. Just need to find something for the long piece on the forearm and the larger of the two hand plates and I've got them all.

I think I'll probably end up making this costume bit by bit. The pants are easy enough and the boots appear to be built on top of modern combat boots. The trickiest part is just all the metal bits. Anybody thinking of sculpting and doing a run of the medallion?

Thanks for the pics, Prarichaya! That is the exact Tamira costume that I was looking for ref pictures for. Do you have any more by any chance?

Unfortunately, this is the only one pic i have left. you know, she only wear that costume for like a mins in the movie when she was praying. i've gone to the moive for like 3 times and im pretty sure that they didnt show the whole pic for her praying costume. i'm trying to find some for you but im not so sure that there will be a hi-res pic, BTW her name is Tamina not Tamira.
Damn, i really like Dastans bracelet!!!
here's the pic
