Thanks. Those look great. :D

Anyone know how to access the "Treadwell/Pilot" Firefly currency (bills) from the archived free paper props thread? The links seem to be dead now. :cry

(if I've over-looked a link in this new thread, please excuse me. I'm old. :lol)

Thanks.

J

:p Hey folks,

Well...when it comes to creating paper props. I am a bit of a non event. I think it takes real talent, not to mention time to create some of these wornderful items.

Anyway, I thought I might throw down the gauntlet so to speak and share some screen caps of things I think would make good projects;)

Maybe if someone decided to take any of them on they could make a tutorial of how they did it? On say photoshop? He he...I know I would be most interested LOL

Anyway, on with the show:

This first cap is from "The Shawshank Redemption'" a great movie. This is the letter Red retrieves from it's hiding place under the rock, near the fence. If you have a Toffe tin....this would fit quite nicely inside :thumbsup

Another "Shawshank item," this is a cap of the frame used for the newspaper article of the escape. Could be useful?

Ok...onto another favorite, if underated film. Bram Stoker's Dracula. LOL Anthony Hopkins is so cheesy in this. Lets not discuss Keanu Reeve's accent huh? This is a series of caps of the letter Keanu's character recieves inviting him to castle Dracula :p

Ok...here's some more Dracula items...Some pictures of some of the main characters :p

Mmm...this one looks fun...an ID of sorts:

Finally a letter to Mina:

So if anyone wants to give 'em a try I have the huge megga 4mb Caps of each one here. Just PM me if you would like 'em...
Cheers

Every time I watch that version of Dracula, I wish someone would do up all the paper props. There are a lot of them.

I've also always wanted the letter Holtz wrote Steven (Conner) at the end of season 3 of Angel. here's some screen caps.

I also transcribed the subtitles from Holtz's narration of the letter. (I've space the margins based on what we see of the last page, feel free to change it if you need to.)

Dearest Steven-

This is a most difficult
letter for me to write.
You mean more to me
than anything in this
world, or any other. But
Your best interests must
come first, which is why
by the time you receive
this, I will be gone. I hope
one day you will be able
to forgive an old man's
weakness which compels
him to say these things in
a letter. But to attempt a

good-bye in your
presence would be
impossible for me. I fear I
would never let you go.
And I must let you go. I
know that if I didn't you
would only end up hating
me, and that I could not
bear. Your destiny lies
with Angel. I know that
now. You will have a
better life with him. I'm
comforted by that
certainty, and in the
knowledge that with him
you'll discover your true
purpose,

and come to know who it
is you are meant to be.
My only prayer is that I
have prepared you well
enough for whatever lies
ahead.

I trust I have.

Be brave.

Lovingly,
Your Father.

Edit, 6/14/2008 - I totally forgot about the fireflyprops.com and serenityprops.com domains, and they both expired. Easy come, easy go!

I've re-uploaded them to my permanent domain now, same place the image host resides. As long as I wake up fogging a mirror every day these files will be available. :)

Both are ~13MB each.

Thanks again to Treadwell for these great files, it's a perfect way to get yourself a nice stack of play money without spending a lot of real money. :)

Hmmm...not sure what happened to the files, I don't recall deleting them. I may have overlooked copying them over when I changed my web hosting.

At any rate, I just gave them a new home, so knock yourself out :)

MMM the Serenity gear looks great mate:) Cheers for that..

Jason...yup, the Dracula stuff is cool. In fact I think I might bother a very creative chap I know and see if I can't arrange a run of the letter. I'll have to create a wax seal but hey....... I think it will be worth it:)

Has anyone ever seen anything from Space: Above and beyond? I see ID cards on ePay, but I have my doubts as to their authenticity. :)

I know you can buy the playing cards they used in S:AaB...

A quick Google search ought to find some. Try looking for 'crooked cards' or something like that.

Not the whole photo from Heroes but here's the upper portion of the picture of Hiro and Charlie that they show full-screen for a couple of seconds. It might make a nice interim display piece for someone, perhaps with a little cleanup that I'm not qualified to perform. :)

just curious on whats out there in terms of harry potter paper props? followed the old thread a bit and I know someone was was workin on harry's letter from the first movie.

Funny you should mention those, as my family had a set of those when I was growing up. :)

Also funny as my last name is "Krook." :D

I did find the Chig small arms target, but nothing else. :(

Does anyone have a printable version of the paper cell phone from "Ultraviolet"?

There were some UV ID cards and such, but I never saw the phone made available.

Been working on this the past couple nights, the full version of the Aerelon soldier photo from BSG:
aerelon-tease.jpg

The one currently floating around online scanned from the Companion is only about 80% of the full image, cropped on all sides, mostly the top and right. It was a massive pain to overlay that on top of a screen cap and fill in the gaps. Not perfect (I'm not a pro graphics guy after all) but it's good enough to go on my wall and share.

Scaled at 8"x10" with trim guides for the corners and edges :)
