I'm not embarassed and stand by my comments.
I've ordered one of these because I agree that it's a steal considering the quality of a mass produced helmet with a very tricky paintjob.
MR states it's a replica of the "hero" ESB helmet worn by Jeremy Bulloch. That is not the case. It's a replica of a different helmet which RESEMBLES the hero helmet. There's a subtle difference and that difference is important to me.
People seem to be missing my point - Rogue Studios painted the master to EXACTLY match the screen used "hero" helmet and with MR's factory paint technique, there's no reason why a VERY accurate replica of the "hero" paintjob couldn't be made available to us. Somewhere along the lines, LFL or MR made a decision to replicate the PP3 instead because it's in the archives. If that's the case, I think it's a shame that Rogue Studios went to great lengths to make it as accurate as possible, only to find that the production version has been made to match a different helmet and does not match the master that he painted.
I just wanted to get this slight disappointment off my chest - it seems that some people agree with what I said.
Like I said, I've ordered one of these helmets and if it matches the paintjob technique seen in Jez's photos, I'll be very happy to display it. It's just that "if only they'd" feeling that will dampen my excitement a bit.
