Premiere Props June Auction Problems

I see several Trek pieces I like but I feel the descriptions are inadequate.

Riker dress uniform is said to be from Insurrection opening wedding scene. What? Nemesis had a pre-wedding dinner and insurrection opened with a scene with dress uniforms but no wedding. Just careless.

The pic of the costume tag doesn't say the name of a movie at all which I found strange.

Having similar issues. The tag doesn't indicate studio either...
And the phaser? Really? 1966 Star Trek was in black and white?

Just contact Tom at Premiereprops. He is the curator for any other information and tag photos.

Im sure he would welcome any information on incorrect episode names etc.

Mark,

Is he really willing to listen? Why not come here where we can all post info and images in a friendly manner? You know what I have to say and what I can show about many of their lots. We teased about it on FB, but this is can be so much more productive.

total joke as always with them. They just sell what ever they fancy to get your money.

I just contacted them about a item for sale on the normal store side. Asked if they could show a picture of the actor wearing the outfit or anything that proves it from that movie. I seen the movie and looked all over for it online. They just said they don't know and do your homework cause they only know what the studio says. You got a COA from the studio?? nope, Great customer service as always there buddy. I'll pass once more and never check out their site anymore.

Lol, sucks when that happens or it signs you out while you type it. Gotta copy, sign back in and then paste it.

PP was contacted by some Trek prop experts and have since pulled the Phaser 1 and Communicator. The Tricorder and Phaser 2 are under scrutiny now. I have doubts that they'll hold up.

D

That's unfortunate Mark. Why not re publish what you wanted to say?

I fear the answer to that is that Mark Short(y) Vader has been seduced to the Dark Side...

lol. No seduced to thinking about trying to solve the problem than add to it.

I will admit that some of my favorite things in my collection came from PP. I like all of you had to wait 3-4 months to get my stuff. Sometimes I had stuff that wasn't as posted. I sent it back. I've neither asked for favoritism our gotten it. It remnds me of the slog dealing with Itsawrap sometimes....those days make my teeth sheer.

The Man of Steel stuff I put in all has coa's from me, all came from either residents of Plano or crew members or from the Third act pictures auction in March 2011 and anything else Ive put in I've tried to live by the creed, this is how I wish my stuff was sold, and if I was buying this is how I would want to buy it.

Now if any auction company from Screenused, to Christies etc or PP wants to used that info, pictures whatever then awesome. Of course we all know the truth. Its easier to take cosigners words than do the checking. This results in a debacle like the Trek stuff lets be honest. DEBACLE. You do not put press releases out before you check the stuff. Period.

Id like everything to be checked to be honest. Id like no autographs, no animation, Id like all the stuff in PP's archives worth a heck pulled out and sold at reasonable prices.Id like reserves that start at $50. Id like fair prices, and etc etc...

BUT its not my business. I can only comment and give them advice if they ask. Why did they ask...cuz Im the only one that stuck up for them at least from the view of saying maybe theres a reason. Other members of the community did too but they don't want to comment on it. That's there right.

Then they read these forums and I wouldn't want to come here either....theres a certain rudeness that comes with commenting on them even though the people saying it haven't done business with them.

I really don't blame them. Who wants to be called a short Darth Vader.....:cry

Oh...btw the other iphone stuff was similar vein to this...but written at 6am so this is probably less rambling, kinder, and concise. Its also as I've said MANY times before my feelings on it. If you don't want to do business then don't, and continue calling Profiles, Christies and Bonhams out for doing the same things, maybe more, maybe less....Horrordomain...don't bother. You'll just encourage him.

As said above if you have comments, feedback etc email Premiereprops. How they treated this "Trek" thing shows me something.
Profiles just stopped sending me cataogs when I commented on there stuff.:unsure

Horrordomain...don't bother.

I know horrordomain has some bad history on here, but I've had only good experiences by getting items in a decently timed fashion and good communication. Though, it was when there was consignments, and it was an item I knew the history on, since I had seen it being sold on other sites like PP, ebay, screen used etc. A collector re-selling an item going through the horrordomain. Thats just me though.

Also if you any of you are bidding on the Small Soliders props in this upcoming PP auction, be prepared to have some bidding competition. :devil

Then they read these forums and I wouldn't want to come here either....theres a certain rudeness that comes with commenting on them even though the people saying it haven't done business with them.

Most of my comments and factual corrections I have posted on the MPF, which I presume they do not have access to. Even if they did, I think that none of my comments could be called rude. And, I am a customer; I bought two lots in successive live auctions and bid on others.

Maybe, what seems rude to them, or to others, is my frankness and adherence to facts. Some of those threads are a 'mile' long and filled with 100% proof of my findings. 2+2 IS 4. I ask and welcome any fact that shows I am wrong. As you know, Mark, nearly all these proofs were ignored (this when their director was active on the MPF and answered some of my complaints and ended up quitting a week before the Live sale) and those pieces remained unchanged in the sale.

This sale is worse, since it does not involve enhancement of lots or wrong attributions, but accepting dozens of known fakes that are not welcome in any venue except for a few nothing houses in the UK and of course, their main cesspool - eBay.

Sad, too, that now they have gotten you, Paulie, Ron, Jerry and others to consign, they have a chance to really do well. Instead, they offer sheer trash alongside your props that will only be bought by newbies and the uninformed. Would the sale have been any less effective if it had 50 less lots? Why do they think a rusty bayonet is from GWTW with absolutely no provenance? Or an unlabeled tunic attributed to a major star that lacks a WCC label? Have they not looked at THE ADDAMS FAMILY or THE MUNSTERS and see those are not their mailboxes? Real pieces from those shows sell for thousands of dollars, but they offer theirs for 10, 20 or 50 bucks with the only description being "a letter box" ...."a door knocker" etc. I can only assume they know and don't care.

All they have to do is read the OPB or use it's search feature for the names on the COA. Or check eBay (there is another yellow John Wayne scarf there for $35.00 with no more history to it than their $4000 one). I don't have to tell you that makes them look bad, or foolish, as it is obvious. But, to reply that I am being mean or rude is not an answer at all. I think it is downright rude they think most of us are so stupid and ignorant that they can offer these insane pieces and we won't comment on it.

rick

PS. I am sorry my illustration of your "Shortcomings" might have been hurtful to you. :D

Rick the rude comment wasnt actually aimed at you. I think your actually very constructive most of the time.

Totally agree. I would much rather have 150 real lots than "fleabay" stuff. No argument there either.

That venerable list of suppliers will tell you part of the reason they consigned is that....(some generalizations are included here)

Christies doesn't want to take anything unless its over a certain amount and a "killer app"
Bonhams only recently got it together
Nate Sanders was really excited then never heard back
Profiles, a long time complaint has been again only wanting over $5000 pieces and being picky beyond the extreme. They also are EXTREMELY bad recently at getting back to you.

That leaves you with Horror Domain, ebay (which is others have said is not always a sellers arena), Screenused (who won't take the item if its been publicly viewed/offered within a couple of years)....SO...your pretty much left with do it yourself (yes I considered this) or try and introduce good stuff to PP. Nuff said.

Can it actually be true that we agree mostly. :cheers

P.S. and on the 50 lots thing yes they now have so much stuff they cant put all the old immortals, three musketeers and beautiful people stuff in the sale that would have garnered them money. People love that part of the auction, myself included.
