PREDATORS - MOVIE INFO

possibly.

I think the SUPER BLACK PREDATOR is just a name, i doubt if he will be SUPER in any other way than being maybe nastier, and maybe deformed or battle hardend.

Also guessing the underbite bio/pred is the so called super black, the one on the main poster, maybe the boney lower part of the bio is actuall part of HIM

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan its a long wait huh.

still those tusks are winding me up :)

Well, that all looks pretty interesting and it's cool to see some shots from the movie, but it's nothing that I'm planning on passing judgement on. Learned that lesson from AVPR. The underbite bio looks like it could be pretty cool when we get a good look at it.

About this whole Fishburne having a mask thing...

everyone agrees that The predators normaly, as in without a bio, see in infrared, right?
Glover took the P2's bio off and when it went after him it still saw in infrared, It's sight was less defined but still infrared.

Wouldn't this mean that all of the different vision-modes supplied by the bio would actually be conveyed in infrared light aka heat since that is what the preds see.
(Pesonally I believe that on the inside of what looks like eyes on a bio is full of small points that can be heated do different levels, Which a preds eyes would interpret as an image.)

So having a bio at all should really be quite useless to Fishburnes character since we humans can't see into the infrared spectrum... :)
or well.. not completely useless... It should make sure his face doesn't get cold.

Am I correct about this quite illogical plothole or have I just got it all wrong?

Maybe he has just picked up random parts over time as he realised they hunted by seeing heat, and he is just using them to block his own heat signature.

That could be an answer, HIs makeshift armor does seems to cover his entire body. But he still shouldn't see much...
Better hope his bodyheat doesn't spread into the armor :)

Anyway, I must say that this sneak peak has made me alot more optimistic about the movie.
I don't quite like the idea of preds actually caring enough to abbduct a bunch of humans who seem tough though.
But I guess I'll just have to try and accept that part.

Ahh... And what wasn't seen in the clips ( effects have yet to be rendered) is that fishburn de-cloaks in front of Brody... Hinting that he has mastered much of the predator armory

ya from the looks of it the bio is damaged beyond, what i would think, operational condition, the theory about simply blocking his heat is probably part of it, but i'm pretty sure it's just to guard that mug of his, in the concept art the bio is even more broken than in the actual movie so i doubt they intended it to operate (and by more broken i mean the lower part of the right side of the jaw is broke off too, and the only reason it looks so small on him is the missing big crown portion, plus he's just gotta big face, and not from pred jungle donuts either) but ya im pretty sure these are all found items and not something he physically removed from a living predator, maybe a dead one, since the tech probably will outlast the beast in terms of power cells, it should of still been usable, regardless of how long the beast has been dead. but you sure as hell don't wanna **** around and activate anything you don't want to so i don't know... :) chances are anything that can be controlled manually by a predator hand should be operational by a human, unless we got some district 9 **** going on (dna authorized) which has not ever really been hinted to i don't think? forgive me if i'm forgetting something...

OMG Half knife ur depressing attitudes and opinions about this film are getting tired now...
Do me a favour, stop reading this thread and looking at pictures from the set, because its clear to all who read these pages how u feel about this movie..enough man please...

We will all let u know whether this film is a triumph or not on july 9th..so please pretty please check back then..

If anyone doesn't like my posts, they don't have to read them. That's your choice, just like it's my right to like or not like whatever I see or hear. If it depresses you, maybe it's because you're not as confident about it as you claim to be. Then again, maybe you just choose to single someone out for whatever reason. It's better to look at the bad side and get a pleasant surprise than pump yourself up and even overlook some things only to be let down in the end. If this film sucks, it won't be a big surprise, but there will still be some good things that come out of it, and if it doesn't suck, then it will be a pleasant surprise. I hope we at least get to see some different Pred faces, etc. How any of us feels about it won't make it a bad movie or good one. So suck it up and move on.

-Fishburn has Pred technology that was more than likely stolen from dead Preds. He's managed to McGuyver a Pred Bio/Japanese helmet together in order to use the vision modes to his advantage. In order to stay alive on the Pred planet, he's managed to adapt and use Pred technology to his advantage.
More than likely he's taken the gaunts and Bio from a fallen Pred killed by other Pred brethern for reasons unknown. He's not planning on waging war against them, but he doesn't want to die.

-for some reason the Preds have killed their own kind...bad bloods, rogue Preds? The reason has yet to be determined...

...and the plot thickens...

I've read that there will be two different tribes of predators with different "personalities". Maybe there's some kind of competition or civil war? Or one of the tribes is dominant and abuses the weaker one?

and I also read on a website bloody disgusting.com that the planet there on is NOT the predator planet but a planet they have taken over for hunting
explains why there is different creatures and stuff on the planet???

So about this body heat blocking thing, y'all know that mud doesn't do that either, right? You know, just in case you were looking for gaping plot holes. I hesitate to point this out in case I accidentally ruin the first movie for anyone who is completely unable to suspend their disbelief in order to watch a science fiction movie. Because also, those big, 8' tall ugly ass aliens we all like to dress up as? They probably don't exist either, sorry.

This isn't star wars or star trek, where there are tech specs and info on the aliens up the wazoo. No one has come out and said "This is how this stuff works". And because of that, there are always going to be different opinions on it. It's very probable that the film makers do not share our somewhat nerdy enthusiasm for the whole subject, and are just thinking about what will (hopefully) make a good movie.

Suspension of disbelief. It's tricky to watch a sci-fi movie without it folks.

he's thrashin around in both versions i'm pretty sure, but i just noticed after watchin that sneak peak 50 times that the first time you see brody goin through the flaming boneyard and it's dark out the pred is hangin right there on the right so i guess that's when they first encounter the creature!

i'm gettin so pumped about all this guys, i'm almost positive we're all gonna be chearin when we see this in theatres, minus a few, there's always a few... :)

im thinking about sculpting the fishburne helmet. Do a P1 face with a Byzantine style crown, then you would just drape the rest in leather. this would be a good human sized helm for all the human hunters.

i really like the concept art of it better than the movie still

Wow had some reading to do. Well, I have to say the Preds look better in action than those crap set pics. So, far I like what im seeing. Definitley an improvment from AVP and AVPR just in the sneek peaks. The bios shown so far are ok except for the "elephant man" bio as it was put, way too bobble head. The "Underbite" one is growing on me, it looks sick in the one sheet/poster shot. "Tusky" I cant decide on.

I agree that Fishburn learing and applying the Pred technology is a bit far fetched but, aliens from another planet that hunt humans for fun is just as far fetched isnt it? His helmet is kinda cool looking I think. It makes sense that he would use what he could find or collect on that planet for armor, clothing, weapons, whatever for his protection. Now making it work for him, we dont know how it works...it could be as easy as an on/off switch. lol. We just dont know and I dont want to know.

I look forward to seeing it. All the Predators, bios, gauntlets, armor, creatures, weapons, and ass kicking that come with this film will be refreshing I think. Hell, the acting alone is gonna help the film tremendously even if it fails in other areas.
