PREDATORS - MOVIE INFO

Dog Soldiers was a as said suuuuuuperb, very british very funny. although tongue in cheak.

Descent i liked, apart from the ending.

doomsday was blah.

Not sure if I should be happy about Neil Marshall directing this movie he has only directed 6 movies so far and I only liked 2 of them.

Hopefully Fox will push the release date back if need-be so as not to rush out a piece of junk. Then again, that doesn't seem to matter to them any way.

Yeah, I'm with Lee about Marshall...Dog Soldiers was absolutely fantastic. It's still my favorite werewolf flick of all time. And I really enjoyed "Descent", as well.

But let's face it, guys...if they haven't even signed a director yet...and they still plan to have this thing in theaters within 12 months? That's a rush job no matter how you look at it. You can't produce a quality film like "Predators" in that amount of time. You just can't. I'm sure Marshall will do the best he can with whatever Fox gives him, but it won't be much.

We're looking at a direct-to-video caliber film at best.
Rodriguez is notorious for getting a lot of film in a short amount of time.

you can do virtually anything in 12 months now. it's not a problem whatsoever. the only thing that compromises achievability is budget. we know nothing about Predators, so writing it off by saying it can't be done is a bit silly, IMO. if it's owt like P1, that it's mostly gonna be location work in a jungle, threfore no huge set building required. Preds are mostly suit work, and what needs to be CGi'd (camo efects etc) can be done w/ very little effort nowadays. even if some big clever sets were needed, if the budget's okay this could be done greenscreen a la Sky Captain or whatever else.
i'd have no worries at all about getting a GOOD film in the can in 12 months ~ people seem to have taken all this 36-month LOTR bullsht as the norm, when it's still the minority. the only thing that would put me on edge about this is if they can come up w/ a good enough polished script in 12 months. just gonna have to wait and see. i got a couple of good ideas i could pitch them...in case they're secretly visiting ;-)

Oh, I'm not saying that it cannot physically be done...but simply that it there is very little chance of it being done well.

Refining a script, hiring a director, casting, location scouting, transit, effects-prep, principle photography, post-production, and release in your local cineplex all within 12 months? That just tells me that Fox isn't taking this project very seriously. That short of a production schedule also pretty much guarantees a tiny budget.

What I'm "hoping"...is that Fox is simply using this film as a placeholder for a release date. Film companies frequently have to compete for release dates well in advance, and at some point they may simply push the release of "Predators" back several months and replace the previous release date with another film.

Frankly, if they're so obsessed with doing a prequel/reboot (whatever they're calling it this week), why not just make a movie that tells the story of what happened to Jim Harper and his men? Theoretically, that story could still involve more than one Predator.

On the subject of scripts, though...I can't help but chuckle every time someone on an internet forum says "fox neds ta lmme rite the scripz!"

You must not know Robert very well...

Rodriguez. i mean, he probably won't be DIRECTING it, but but he'll be involved somehow. Anything he touches accelerates. He's movie crack.

Actors I would like to see Micheal Ironside in Predator 3 and yes Half-Knife he is still alive. He was in terminator salvation(I think it was him).Mabye the guy who played jason in the new friday the 13th as the predator.IDK somebody tall and creepy.

The guy in the Wolf suit would do fine...he got the movements down pat, wasn't his fault the movie sucked.

I would really like to see spectral motion get the FX gig with a Steve Wang suit and paint job. Doug jones would be my choice of suit performers to portray the Predator(s).

I think Ian should come back as the predator, and if there really gonna take this movie seriously and try to give it a boost of life then they should go big or go home with Legacy FX for the costume work.

Doug jones is about 6'3 not tall enough even with lifts to be the pred .

leave Ian whyte with it i say, Ian looks to be one of the very few people who actually researched anything on AVP-r and got the PREDATOR motion spot on.

I'll second that! The movements in AVPR were really good. Wolf was a great character because of Ian Whyte.

i wouldn't mind seeing WWE's Kane play a Pred, got the height and a big build to be a huge badass hunter i'd think.

Kane? god i hope not.

big slow assed lump. Preds are meant to be stealthy, agile, swift, hunters.

Ive seen tectonic plates move quicker than that lump.

Have to agree with Lee.
NO WRESTLERS PLEASE!!!
I hate the linebacker look on AVP!
liekk lee said more agile more lean. and please people don't come and tell me that preds are like humans and like us they might come and all sort of builds and sizes...mmmm NO!!
you guys haven't seen a skinny terminator or an overweight one for that matter right?
why cause the original one is the BOMB!! so why **** the look?
keep it the same please.
