Predator2 mask Journey FINISHED.

lee, for someone who is not a big fan of the P2, you really really make it seem like its your number one! thats awesome! im soo jealous that i most likely wont be able to afford it (in time since there are limited copies) doing the project i have started. MAJOR bummer. But, the finished product, will most likely be my screensaver. lol

As Nagash and a couple of other people asked about how im molding etc, i took these quickly.

1st pic show the new teeth sculpted in super scupley.

The next pic, is all the things apart from silicone used to make a mold ( again this is only the way i do it, not right or wrong, just my way )
Super glue/teeth/ 2 pins for the clay teeth ( explained below ) and a cereal box to make the mold boxes from.

I then make 2 boxes, 1 for the bigger teeth and 1 for the smaller teeth. A single drop of super glue is used to secure the teeth to the inside of the box, leaving roughly 5-10mm between them. The clay teeth will not glue to the cardboard box, so i push a 1inch pin through the bottom of the box into the clay, securing it enough to the box for molding.
You can see the 2boxes in different states, the big teeth box has been made and the small teeth box is ready to be made up, its easier to glue the small teeth before the box is made for for me anyway hehe.

Then once the boxes are made you pour in your silicone, i pour from about 18 inches above the boxes into one corner, letting the silicone flood/fill around the teeth and rise to the topof the box.

After 24hrs ish you can break off the boxes, and just pop the teeth out, here you can see the P2 film teeth still in the mold, the clay teeth half way out , and all the smaller teeth have been removed from their mold.

then you just pour in your fast cast resin, and you have teeth, which is what ill do when i get resin, which is now on theway along with plaster and latex wooohoooooo.

Nice work. I presume the silicone mould is flexible and strong enough to get the pieces out without damaging either the mould or the final resin casts. Certainly beats the hassle of making double or multi part moulds.

Yeah the mold is very flexible, to get most of the little teeth out all i will have to do is flex the mold and they will pop up, the biger ones can sometimes need alittle tickling hehe, but the silicone self releases well on the resin i use anyway.

Thanks Lee, I appreciate that. you ARE the man.
Is it possible to make a mould like this for beads, or would that be a problem because the beads are hollow?

Great work, Great tips, Great thread.....

I'm new (introduced myself today) but what I've seen of your work so far is mind blowing!

Keep it up... ....i'm hooked!

Bob
