There are many different ways to do it. I did mine from foam http://www.thehunterslair.com/topic/28708-foam-sculpting-my-first-bio-front-half-of-mold-done-0107/ but most people do either a clay sculpt or Pepakura and bondo or some other filler material. What are you trying to accomplish? Something quick? Inexpensive? Something you can sell? Just something to wear? Start with answering some basic questions and it will help steer you in the right direction.

Steve's correct, a little more info would be helpful. If your sculpting with clay, a simple armature is used as a base to build off of. I'm getting ready to do this: http://www.thehunterslair.com/topic/27590-huntorial-how-to-make-a-bio-armature/#entry334955, which is one that one of our members uses. I've also heard of people building a pep bio, reinforcing it with firberglass, and using that as an armature. Steve would be the resident foam expert here, and even if you choose not to go that route, I highly recomend checking out the link he posted...it's simply amazing! Hope some of this helps.

Sorry, I suppose it would or been helpful if I said what it was used for I have sculpt predator yead and I am wantinging to make a helmet for it.
I just do not know how to start I have the design I want but only problem is I do not know how to start I off, I am going to use monster makers clay to sculpt it.

Going with the wire armature as described in the link Brian posted above would probably be your best option then. That way you can get the frame close to the size and shape you need it to be to fit your mask. BTW, you are not far from Brian or myself if you are in Spartanburg, SC. Welcome to the Lair neighbor.

When I figure out how to decrease the size of my pictures I will post them as I go I have been taking them through my galaxy 3 phone and it will not let me post them.
By the way does anyone have any suggestions as far as plastic that I can use for a Canon and bracers I have both made but I have no clue what is light enough or not too heavy to be carried on shoulder and arms.
