Portal 2 Turrets - Need Pictures

Okay, so I know some of you are pretty handy with a computer, so I was wondering if someone had the ability to rip the game model of the Portal 2 turrets so I could get a good look at the guts of one of those things. (Including the skeleton/frame)

I'm looking to put together a Portal 2 Turret, but the vast majority of pictures I find are either of Portal 1 Turrets or don't show any of the details...or worse are from the promotional videos and are thus crazily inaccurate.

So, can anyone help me out?

...Hell, if you've even gotten some good in game shots of the Turrets where you can see into them, I'd appreciate that too. I can never seem to get close enough to the little buggers before they shoot me. :lol

The higher the resolution the better!

Thanks guys!

I'm pretty sure I have a High Def 3D Model somewhere around my PC with High rez textures if that would help you out.

Help me out? That would be a godsend! If you don't mind sharing that would help me out hugely!

Ok this is what I have for the Turret, I have the Turret in it's other forms as well such as closed, etc., etc. just lmk if you want those as well. If it's in Portal 2 I have a model for it.

WOW! I've been playing around with the file now for a few minutes, and it's incredible. There are some great details here I would have never seen otherwise.

...I just wish my ability to map textures wasn't so hit or miss.

I think this picture says it all, about why I'm wowing. (For those without the ability to open the file)

Thanks! When my Turret army and I take over the world, we will [attempt to] spare you.

WOW! These are fantastic. Whatever you do, do NOT send me the files for Atlas and Wheatley...or I'll have building projects to last me well into old age...and I may never leave my house.

Seriously, thanks for all of these!

I will buy drinks for a night for whoever uses these to make a full-sized GLaDOS first. :lol

I have Atlas, Wheatley, I think I even have the DLC version of those two with the roll cages, all the Spheres even though I think it's the same model for all of them I have the textures for each, and all the Cubes. With textures for everything.

Maaan, how are you planning to make yours?

Do you plan to use the models as references and build it that way?

I ripped the model from the game and I'm attempting to build the components from Pepakura files I unfolded, but it's turning out a lot more difficult that I would have hoped.

Niiice, the 3d model looks pretty amazing! I am looking foward to see how it turns out! And just a little question like that, I started working on a portal 1 security camera, do someone here have the 3d model for them? It's kinda hard to find good reference for these things on the net (I might be interested in the portal cameras as well if some of you has them ;) )

I could rip you that model if nobody else already has one.

How large are you looking to make them?

Though the game models would have you believe they are well-over 5 feet tall when compared with Chell, I'd like to go for the size that they are perceived on screen, which works out to somewhere around 24-36 inches tall.

What I actually though about doing, was to scale it using a game-ripped model of the ASHPD, (Portal Gun) essentially averaging the size of the fan builds (Like Volpin's) in order to find the relative conversion of in-game inches to real life inches.

As for construction. The innards should be fairly straightforward hard modeling; using some foam, MDF, and sintra. The more organic shapes could go a number of ways. It could be everything from sculpting or foam carving on one end of the spectrum, up to CNC routing or 3D printing at the other.

Figuring that out is half the fun though.
