Does anyone have any good reference pics for this handsome devil...

It's "The Beast" ghost from the end of the movie Poltergeist. It's the most horrifying thing I've ever seen and still makes me crap my pants whenever I see it.

I'm looking for some photos of the actual prop rather than screencaps.

You mean the thing at the door? Yeah, looked absolutely evil, iirc.

What are your plans with this, if you can reveal them?

I'd like to build a scaled maquette and, eventually, a full scale replica in time for next Halloween. My goal is the make the full scale a kind of rod puppet with movement limited to the head, neck & jaw. In order to do that, I'm going to need some pics of the actual prop rather than screencaps.

That movie has been on the past week. I keep watching it. Freaks me out occasionally. I would think about trying that Thunder/lightning counting, but I worry about a tree reaching in my window and grabbing me! :lol:lol

I saw Poltergeist with a friend after his mom didn't pick us up from an early screening of Annie for mentally disabled kids. We piggy backed on screening since my friend's uncle was sponsoring the premiere of Annie at the theater later that night. So anyway, we sat down to watch the movie since his mom hadn't shown up and of course my pants were scared clear off me. I was staying with my grandparents that night, and she prepared chicken for dinner. Just what you want to eat after watching Poltergeist. I slept on an uncomfortable couch and saw ghosts flying around me all night long.

All I know about it was that it was filmed underwater to get the flowing hair look.

I wonder if something like that could be hooked up to a Vandergraft generator (static electricity thingy) to make the hair do that for real? :D

Resurrecting this thread.

Any behind the scenes stuff? Pics of any kind?

Anyone have Cinefex 10? Might be something in there.

An artist at Statue Forum is tackling this sweet fellow as subject for a sculpt thought maybe I could find some info to help.
