Polar lights 1/350 enterprise NEW build up

Just amazed at this...

Were you able to apply the aztec masks in large sections? Or did you have to individually apply each one?

Sean

Each applied one by one, eg 16 sections for the saucer for example. They were covered with a clear application tape and applied like a sticker, then the app tape peeled away leaving the mask on the model. No paint pull when removing the mask as the tack is not that aggressive.

The plotter cuts them all from the eps files, weed out what's not needed and instant masks. Saved so much time

Okay, I am blown away by how good this looks. I see some things I can try when I eventually tackle mine to improve on this beautiful piece of excellence.

But until then, I think this Youtube video might be most appropriate to sum up our feelings on seeing this beauty built:

Really a beauty and I'm sure you are proud of her. Love all the pics and documentation. Just a question - any clue how many total hours you put into the whole thing?

average of 6 hours a night/day x 6 months..... Rough estimate being over 1080 hours averaging 45 days solid work if it were possible to stay awake that long ;-) ...... Math not my strong point tho

For those wondering how the fibre optics and LEDs came out look here

The moment I finished it I sat back and one word came to my mind......Epic, can't convey how happy I was and it was well worth the time it took.

This is,by far, the best build up of the enterprise I've seen here. Your lighting and paint job are outstanding. Thanks for the pictorial documentation.

i did see one in that colour - but hey its a minor mistake - but mainly as the led under there was supplied blue by trekmodeler it was always going to stay that colour for me. theres a few little differences in this build - difference in colours etc etc - but all a learning curve and if i did another id certainly address those........but i dont intend another at this time :)

Just say it's had a refit. :p

Incredible work. Clearly you have a lot of patience for all of that aztec-ing.
