In a post I just made, I 'mentioned' Michael Bergeron (to let him know :lol).

However, when I posted, the mention function 'mentioned' member michael.

I tried to correct it several times, but it kept pointing towards the same (wrong) member.

Re: Something is wrong with the mention function

To be more specific, when I typed @ before MB's name, and then tried to correct it after I posted, the text that showed to correct looked like this

[ mention] michael Bergeron [/ mention]

If member michael was advised around 6 times that he was mentioned, I apologise :lol

Re: Something is wrong with the mention function

OK, last time member michael was here was Sep 7, 2008.

If he got notifications that he was mentioned 6 times ...... that'll get him here again very quickly :lol

Didn't get any mentions. ;)

Maybe because you didn't use a capital "M"?

Nope. In the 6 times I tried, I checked. I even went onto your profile on the last attempt & copied/pasted your name after the @ just in case.

OK, since I've established michael hasn't been on here for a while, a 7th summon won't hurt I suppose :lol

here goes ...... Michael Bergeron

HA ! You see, it did it again !

I wrote @ Michael Bergeron (no space after the @ of course ... don't want an 9th roll call :lol

When trying to edit this one, this is the text now

[MENTION=1754 ]michael[ /MENTION] Bergeron

(no spaces at the 'MENTIONS')

Re: Something is wrong with the mention function

BTW, the mention you made to me worked fine.

It's you who is broken :lol

It's because we don't have a member with the user name "alan", if we did, you'd be broken too. :lol

Actually, I think it has something to do with the fact that Michael changed his user name (checking on it).

Re: Something is wrong with the mention function

Nah, it's the equivalent of an unlisted number. :D

Re: Something is wrong with the mention function

I know in some cases in coding, you have to underscore for spaces or add quotes around things to show as one item. Maybe that's it? I mean whatever update ran may have overwritten something that would automatically do that for you? I dunno. Spitballin' here.
