Please help identify Trooper helmet and maker

JJ - no ones encouraging, nor praising the act of recasting mate. The man wanted to know where his helmet came from, and now he knows.

"Recast or not, that's a great deal"? I disagree. I don't mean Rocko, but those that have no problem with this being done.

It's not cool that this lid is a recast of TE's - it only looks as good because of it's origins.
As well as this if this came from Mario in Arizona would this be Mario Soto?
If it is Soto he's pure dirt - he did his best to steal my money when I bought a DP Deluxe Boba cast from him .
He HAS stolen money from customers in the past.
I think there's something on the RPB dealers review section about him too

Geee... Those who think its ok to buy recast because its cheaper should not be allowed to be on this board. Its due to them we got people making recast, they buy from them and gives them money to continue.

I am not reffering to you Rocko... Its the general attitude.

Everyone wants to get good deal is good, but maybe asking the question prior to buying will give you answers or warning signals prior to actually buying.

Take it easy guys, not everybody is a expert,i could'nt tell from the photo's that it's a recast.if i saw that on Evilbay i would have bid,i don't condone recasting ,it's not a practice i would ever use,but what should we do in this situation?Send it back, complain.REMEMBER RECASTERS DON'T ADVERTISE AS SUCH.so how would you know:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol. There also seems to be a shadowy grey side to recasting(it's okay if the item is no longer made:wacko)

Because of this forum i know of many recasters that i would never do business with, maybe we're the lucky ones

ok I agree not everyone is an expert.
but as part of a prop collecting community, and THIS community in fact - shouldnt we actually know better than to take ".... oh I cant remember where this item is from..."

before joining a community; I started out like most, buying stuff on my own off the internet. not knowing any better.

Now thanks to forums like this and other prop forums - I am a right pain as a buyer - asking where its from, who they got it from, who the original seller was; and often going back to the maker to verify stories - just ask people like TE2, clone6 or pghfett about my innane emails. I have also learnt that '501 approved tag' is not always genuine.

have i missed out on good deals cos I have gone to lengths to verify origins of an item? yes I have.

Have I passed on a gorgeous item just because a seller 'coudlnt remember where he got prop item A from?' - again yes I have.

Do I regret it - no I dont, as I would hate my cash gettin into the hands of any recaster - 1st hand or second.

I agree with TMP, JJ and GINO on this - just cos it looks good and comes at a good price doesnt excuse not finding out the origins of an item.

Quite the thread resurrection...

But well said Heatshock. I cringe to think of the junk I would have bought without this forum.

Boy, I don't have much to offer on this board, except a hearty thank you GINO, JJ etc....thank you RPF!
