I've been working on this project for nearly 4 years now, I have a real IONA shoe polisher that I've disassembled. I sanded it and painted in black as seen in Ghostbusters, all I need is the wings, lighting and a faceplate for the readout. Does anybody know where I can get these relatively cheap? :confused

welcome to the board...
As far as a budget PKE... you'll probably have to build a few things yourself, or re-purpose some things to get your lighting and sound.
I've seen people do it before. The problem with those screen accurate kits is that you can count on one hand the amount of poeple who make them and sell them. But hyperdyne's stuff is always amazing!

You could start looking at things that are around you at toy stores or electronic stores or dollar stores. I actually have a keychain I bought years ago that is a decision maker. The lights flash in sequence and it beeps with each flash... But it's backwards, it starts fast and then slows down.

I would try searching for PKE and just read through them to see if any of them used home grown lights or sound.

There are a ton of very helpful people here who I'm sure can help more than I... When you get your PKE done you'll have to be sure to share pics!

Take care and good luck with the build.
