He did have it custom dyed, but the fabric that Toby, Scott and Richard have are all the same. It's the same red fabric, but with 3 different dye jobs - this has been confirmed by several people.

Toby has said he 'might' sell the fabric but at this juncture, he doesn't know.

I never would have guessed. Those are 3 VERY different dye jobs! :| I like most of them though. I don't have the resources to have that kind of stuff done so good for them for taking advantage of that red stuff. Just wish the rest of us could find something similar enough... BLergh.

I bought a yard of the stuff on a just because I didn't want to later have 'didn't buy' remorse, and so I'd have it to take around on searching expeditions. So if there is anything about it or any questions about it that you think I might be able to tell you or answer from having it here to look at and examine, please ask.

For those who didn't save the info, or anyone just now joining the hunt,

Are you sure? I thought Scott and ACME said they had it custom embroidered?

Has anyone put together a British naval costume from POTC? I've been trying to pinpoint the period from the new trailers, but it seems to fluctuate quite a bit from 1740-1780.

yea, the POTC franchise has had "date" issues from the beginning - ships in the background were not used in that time period - actors say nautical references that were not used - etc etc. If you want to copy the costume - you're better off with screen shots and then doing a custom build. (altering existing patterns)

That's what I figured. I also just heard that they are already working on the script for a POTC 5! -- at least that's what the radio story reported...time will tell.

Well, my little Scottish friend got the Tassel part right!!! Not from a sporran either, but from a bellydancer's rig!!

Thanks to diligent searching and keen eyes, a wee stash of these little dangle treasures were unearthed by a certain jinkxed jack who has magnanimously shared the very few extras he had with as many of us as he could. As proclaimed in my new sig banner, I'm the new owner of Tassel #4!!!! Many thanks, jj--good man, good pirate!
