I have these displayed hanging in my sons room from fishing line with the Mustang in a banking pursuit towards the Messerschmitt which is in a dive from the damage incurred. I used a scribing bit on my dremel to make bullet holes in the Messerschmitt and gloss enamel for oil trails and a little airbrushing.

Hope you guys like the pics..

Sweet. Very nice.

I love the bullet holes, much better than the old hot knife. I must admit it's been years since I've done a warplane and will have to try the scribing bit. :)

Thanks for the compliments guys....they really turned out cool and look awesome hung in his room.

I'm going to do a buildup of this plane which I have in a gorgeous frame done by Barrie Clark in 40 x23 over his headboard. I'll again be using the Hasegawa 1/32. It's a Spitfire Supermarine Mk. Vb. I've already got the model, just need to get all the paints. I'll be hanging it from the ceiling, near the picture for a really cool display.

Great work.

Nothing inspires like a warbird.

By the way, interested parties need to be watching Dogfights on History Channel.
Excellent stuff.

Love the bullet holes, but especially the newly marked number 7 over the old faded number 5 on side of fuselage.

Nice work. Just watched a video of live action P-51 vrs 109s last night and you did a great job replicating it.

Can't believe that I missed this post....very nice. I'm currently working on weathering a Stuka that I'm building....

Wow. I really appreciate all the compliments guys :$ This was my first warbird build in about 20 years and I was a bit nervous about doing the Mustang in a Natural Metal Finish since they are by far the hardest to pull off. In the end the weathering gave it the realism I was after.

This all has me amped up to get to work on my Spitfire Mk. Vb. :love

In time I want to get the Hasegawa "Checkered Tail Squadron" P51 kit and hang it along side the current one as a wingman. It's basically the same, but the tail decals extend along the fuselage and not just the tail.

Here's a quick shot (sorry for the flash) of them in flight. Lots of detail gone and the fishing line shows terribly with flash, but this time of day there is no natural light in his room.
