Just to fix up a few things,A much more readable chart with known colors of the four jackets.
Thanks.Just to fix up a few things,
I personally think it was a purposeful variation. As when they made them with 3 section waistbands, they made the top chest pieces shorter but the jacket was still the same length for that given size. A 3 section waistband is taller. One thing to remember is that Guess was operating sweatshops in the US during their heyday. Some variations like 2-3 band could be down to quality control more than any purposeful variation.
Love this project though.

Very true lol. And I think at some point I heard someone say that Guess is pretty tight lipped about all of it and won't give out any information. Also entirely possible.
The only thing we know about this jacket is that we don’t know much lol.
One also sold on Malaysian Carousell for very cheap. (~$35USD). I found the listing 2 days after it was put up but I was still unfortunately too late and was already sold. Most recent jacket find. Someone else bought it. It was a size Medium. View attachment 1884824
Someone I know pointed out to me that that jacket is the same one that sold for $950.One also sold on Malaysian Carousell for very cheap. (~$35USD). I found the listing 2 days after it was put up but I was still unfortunately too late and was already sold.

I figured, someone sent me the $950 jacket listing (probably the same person) a few days ago and I thought similar. If only I found the carousell listing it a little bit earlier..Someone I know pointed out to me that that jacket is the same one that sold for $950. View attachment 1885284
It’s even funnier than that: they just don’t have archives and have never had an archivist. So they don’t know much about this jacket.Very true lol. And I think at some point I heard someone say that Guess is pretty tight lipped about all of it and won't give out any information.

They could probably still make the fabric. That kind of info would most definitely still be with them. The patterns on the other hand would have to be made either by them doing their best with reference photos or someone with a jacket helps them out. It’s even funnier than that: they just don’t have archives and have never had an archivist. They know they made it they just don’t have anything else to add since the business was so loosey goosey back then lol
It's the Mexican jacket. So is this or is it not just the Mexican jacket...? You can't see the front side of the tag
Speaking of which, how many people are confirmed to own a correct colored jacket? I know Sinister80s already made a post but didn't it only talk about the Lyon Estates jacket? They could probably still make the fabric. That kind of info would most definitely still be with them. Two people. Lyon Estates and Jonnytrooper.Speaking of which, how many people are confirmed to own a correct colored jacket? I know Sinister80s already made a post but didn't it only talk about the Lyon Estates jacket?
