Phasers and Airsoft

I have a friend who is getting a Sci Fi LARP together and I want to bring a Starfleet character in. He is using Nerf and Airsoft for the projectile weapons of the game with similar rules to battles of the aforementioned type. I was wanting to try and get some PVC or Resin casts of the Cobra-Head phaser rifle and maybe do a pump action single-shot, and something more advanced for the Type IV (I think, the First Contact/Voyager/Nemesis) Phaser rifle such as using P90 parts (mostly to make using a clip easier). Does anyone have any experience doing such a thing or at least modding with Resin or PVC? A bonus would be also having room to do the electronics and some lights as well.
