Pawn Star / Rock Island Auction Million Dollar Blaster replica..

All the controversy aside at the very least this was a great CAD learning experience. I actually designed this up over a year ago and made it in MJF (below) but I wanted to redue it to be printed on an FDM printer instead..

For this blaster there is many great pics and videos to draw from so it made it pretty straight forward in replicating it. No need to talk about why this prop isn't what it claims to be as that subject is without debate and pretty clear to anyone who does about 5 minutes of research. Serial numbers anyone!?

So lets just jump right into it. Here are most of the pics I used to duplicate it..

From there I used Solidworks to draw it up..

And to bring it to life this time around I used a Bambu Labs P1S. To show off how detailed this printer can be I used it to create the specific looking hex screw that is on this blaster. I couldn’t find it anywhere so I simply duplicated it the best I could. Originally I printed it with a .4mm nozzle but didn’t like the details so I subbed in a .2mm nozzle to great effect..

And now onto the FDM replica of the Pawn Stars/Rock Island Auction "Faux" Blaster..

And for good measure the only parts of this blaster that are actually from the original Hero prop from the original Star Wars..

And lastly here is this prop replica with a replica of the OG Hero for comparison..

Out of curiosity, did Bapty ever get back to you about your counteroffer of sending them a replica of the RIA blaster in exchange for some better photos of some of their work on SW back in the 70s?

Thanks dude! It wasn’t Bapty who made the offer it was a guy who worked there apparently. He wanted to gift them my blaster as he said they were “missing” having it around. But I never heard anything and honestly never really pursued it. Highly doubt they have anything we haven’t seen already.
