Pandorum

The trailer was interesting, the posters...creepy, but then Pandorum hit theatres, was swiftly panned by critics, and nobody went to see it. Well I was still interested based on the trailer and picked up the dvd, which was released this week.

I don't know what bug crawled up those critics butts, Pandorum is a solid sci-fi spooker! (Sure, I was a little wary seeing Paul 'hack' Anderson as a producer credit but it looks like he just fronted some cash to see it made.)

The cast is great, the props and sets are very impressive, and the story takes some cool turns. Check it out! :thumbsup

I watched it last night. I liked it quite a bit. I thought they could have explained the origins of the hunters a little better or at least come up with a better one, but I liked the ending.

I just got it in the mail this week from Blockster online. I'll be watching it tonight. :thumbsup

I really enjoyed it. And I like the Hunter explination. It made sense within the confines of the story.

There were generations of breeding amoungst themselves after having had the chemicals in the stasis chambers tampered with by whatshisname. They explained the chemicals were designed to help the people come out of stasis prepared for the environment on the new planet. So the evolutionary changes are reasonable with the context that the chemicals were supposed to be changing them anyway.

I loved it personally, great movie. Ben Foster is one of my favorite actors and he didn't disappoint in this movie.

I really liked it as well. It was like a slasher flick meets Titan AE, which somehow worked. great cast, great story, and I really liked how the audience figured out what was happening at the same time as the characters.

I compared it to Event Horizon, another space horror, which I thought edged out this movie a bit in terms of entertainment value, though EH was middling at best.

EH was just down right disturbing. I rank Pandorum much higher. But that's just me.

I saw this a couple weeks ago and didn't see a thread here. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I expected crap that I wouldn't pay much attention to but it drew me in. The ending was pretty cool.

Bought it today (before I even saw this thread), based on my friend's suggestion.
Haven't watched it yet, but it's good to see it has favorable response from the RPF.

Finally saw this tonight - liked it a lot... Wish Alien Resurrection had taken a few clues from this one...

Yep, I'd have to agree with what's been said. I love horror flicks in general, but put em in Space with the all the great dark and creepy sets that come with any space flick and I'm hooked.
Though I'll say I wasn't impressed with the synopsis or the trailers. The reason I watched it is because the critics said not to.

I thought the beginning was amazing. Then it started to lose steam with the final gasp of a corny ending. I really like the main actor. He was awesome in Alpha Dog.

I've been re-playing Dead Space a lot lately and this film had the same sort of creepy vibe..

IF they do a Dead Space film, it should take a few tips from this (as well as "Alien" and "Aliens")

I didn't even realized this one was released yet.. it must have tanked horribly in theaters. I'll have to check it out.

We had it for a standard run of a few weeks at my theater. I wouldn't say it tanked. It wasn't a blockbuster but it didn't tank in my opinion.

In release for only eight weeks, $13,327,342 worldwide on a $40 mil budget. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but that's not a good return.
