P1 Bio Laser Shroud

Not sure if that is the proper name, but the bio I picked up does not have the hub/shroud for the tri laser system. It came with a reain piece for the hose connections and another smaller piece I am not sure exactly what to call it. Where can I buy (if it is available) the laser hub piece? I see in old post Don Jar is who to contact for the tri laser piece, I messaged him on ebay waiting for a response. Also what would you guys say is the best way to mount the resin cast piece to the bio and then smooth the seams out? I was thinking a two part epoxy followed by some 2 part plumbers putty.

I would use gorilla glue to secure the pieces to the bio. You can then use epoxy sculpt to fill the seams and smooth it out. Here is a pic of mine with hose ports and laser shroud attached

That looks great, where do I get the laser housing? Or is it something you kind of have to mold

The shroud depends on the bio, there's not really a "universal" shroud that fits them all.  Assuming you know who's bio this is (sculptor) you can go back and ask if they have one available.  If not, you'll have to make one to fit.  Best way to get a quality looking piece is to sculpt it directly on the bio, then mold and cast it.  As far as attaching, I always use a good quality 2 part epoxy (not that cheap crap from hardware stores).  Once the epoxy is cured, go back in with some apoxie sculpt (or similar) and blend it in.  You'll have to pay close attention to what you're doing when sanding, because it seems most fillers are harder than the resin used to cast the bio.  Mind if I ask where you got it?

P.S. Check with A Hunters Moon.  I'm not sure if he offers them, but he sculpted a shroud and tri-laser piece that's about as accurate as it get's for George's stunt.

Sorry I didn't realize my phone didn't post. I got the bio from Monsterroom on here. According to him the laser piece was never made for it. Didn't say who exactly made the bio. I will check with Hunters Moon and see if he can help me =)

I'm no expert, but it sure looks like one of Hez's bios.  The left eye and dent in the dome are pretty east to spot (when looking at monsterrooms sales thread).  I see that he say's it's not though, but never really did say where it came from.  What I don't understand is if it is Paul's the shroud should have been attached, as he sculpted that and the hose connector pieces on the bio and not separate.  On the other hand, I could be totally wrong here... wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last.

I mean its not the worst thing in the world as this is a winter project. But was just curious as to what I needed to do. I contacted A Hunters Moon as you suggested, hopefully he can shed some insight. I just don't know if I need to sculpt something onto it and make a mold, I don't want to recast someones work. If I have to I don't mind SO much to make it complete just would rather not. Plus if that has to happen, gives me a chance to customize it a bit more for myself =)

Maybe I should have said that the only thing you'll be molding and casting would be the shroud.  Molding and casting the entire bio would be recasting, and without the consent of the original artist (who hasn't been identified yet) that would be bad news.  Honestly, if it were me I would be spending my time tracking down the original creator of the bio before I did anything else.  But that's just me, YMMV...

Nope. For the record I never recasted anyone's work. OK I lied, when I first started monkeying around with silicon molds I did recast a toy gun but that was for experimental purposes only. I never recast another artist's work and passed it off as my own. Im too proud of an artist to do that.
