Wow. He even posted you on the list of banned members..

How can one 'spy' in a public forum? He even mentioned the RPF.

what a swell guy.

What's next recasting the SS AMT/Ertl Millennium Falcon?[/b]

They're about to recast one of those Snap-Tite Scout Walkers... :D

These 'guys' act like a couple of 14 year olds....which is probably not far from the truth...

All sniping aside, you bring up a good point here.

I tried early on to help the guy who put up the site (is that Dan?) by helping him clarify what studio scale was, how the 'politics' worked, etc. He came off to me as somebody who was certainly inexperienced in the SS field. Perhaps more importantly, he seemed to me to be just as you speculate above- somebody very young and immature. I was hoping that some rational discussion would help him to pull it back a few notches- especially when getting into email and PM debates/arguements. I gave it a good try, but either he just doesn't get it, or there is another agenda at work here. Either way, he has gone about it in a clumsy way.

If he is just a kid, I hope he can learn from this. Folks online are much quicker to argue than in real life. If you are going to run a forum or online business, it requires more than the usual amount of diplomatic skill; you have to have a much longer fuse and be willing to take constructive criticism.

actually you all are acting like bunch of 14 year olds, trying to bash my site because your afraid of competition, so why rolando was on our site just being logged in?? whats the reason??? keeping tabs to see when we would release??? this right there prooves he's afraid of some comp, got a ton of emails about you guys on here and how you act towards people, and you hurt yourselves not me.

Heres one email on Sunday from a K. Justen

" Those people on the rpf have a lot of nerve to drag stuff out I for one will not buy a @#$ thing from any of them just because of their recent actions if and when you have something to offer I sure will consider buying yours over theirs take care and best of luck"

Got more emails just like it.

Dan, I only have one question for you. Who was your pattern maker for the SS DVTF that you emailed and are still waiting for a response. Did he get back with you and verify if it was a scratchbuild with photo evidence?

Edit:

OH. So being logged on to your website is a bannable offence? I didn't know there was a time limit.

having 2 user accounts is a bannable offense as stated in the terms and conditions.
you had 2 user accounts, Black Ops Studios and Black Ops Models.

you cant argue that one, so dont try to make me look bad for your own actions.

enough said, I wont be posting here or even reading this forum anymore.

See ya.

The first one Black Ops Studios was done with an inactive email account which I forgot so I redid Black Ops Models under a current email address. If you check, the first one was never activated as the email for that account doesn't exist since it's inactive. So, in fact, I only had one active account.

Now back to who was your pattern maker that you said you contacted about the SS DVTF. Did you verify that it was a scratchbuild? Where you lying then or are you lying now that you didn't know that Jerry was your pattern maker and partner in your business endeavors?

In a hobby that is built on trust and reputation... this was clearly a poor start. StudioScale ain't going to do himself any favors by his latest comments. He'd be better off apologizing and admitting mistakes. I sure won't be buying anything from him until he does. An ounce of humility may go a long way on building reputation within this community of modelers.

Looks like they took down their discussion forum. I wonder why. :cry

So as suspected, that site is nothing more then a flee market, oh well.

I'll believe that, just like your other posts.

You stated people do not like/want competition.
If that were the case how come so many guys here offer so many different things?
If your not recasting anybody, new propmakers are welcomed, with open arms in fact.
If your a recaster, your going to look forward to this kind of treatment.
For everybody's entertainment, and at your expense.
So don't be a recaster.

I hope you had Justin's permission to post that message of his. I imagine if he meant everyone to read it, he'd have posted it publicly.

RE your recent behavior here: Forget modeling for a while. Go somewhere quiet and think about what motivates you and what you want out of life. Honor and respect are precious commodities we all seek in our own fashion, but there are no shortcuts; once lost they are difficult to regain. For the sake of your well being, do your best to find a way through life that uplifts others instead of using them.

I do not say this out of meanness or annoyance, but compassion. I hesitate to speak for others here, but I doubt that they hate you. They are, as am I, frustrated and disappointed in you and the way you waste your potential.

You are a doer, and that's a great engine of potential in any community. You could be a real asset here or where-ever you wish to apply yourself. But you have some bridge repairing to do first. And some character building.

I have tried.

We jumped ahead of ourselves and it was a mistake on my part and I regret it.

I regret not knowing as much as some of you here and I am still new to studio scale modeling.

The intentions of the site was to offer a place to supply parts for people to build their own studio scale models and what did we get for it? we got bashed by the kit makers here on this forum because we offered parts to modelers instead of modelers buying their kits and these kit makers here complained about it and still complain and causing most of the mischief here right now, the very same people and you know who you are.

I take the critisism and now I appoligize right here and now.
That being said the site is now just a place to sell your own models/kits, we dont make them and we will not be having a store or forum, way too much headache and its a game I dont want to be a player in.
The site gets over 500 hits a day so it is still a good way to unload a kit or a built model if you needed to, this I will continue to offer a service instead of product.
Thank you for you time, sorry to all those who have to read this but I am truly sorry.

I thought you weren't coming back or reading the board?

Actually the reason I never went back to your board was because of the stunt you pulled with the TIE shrouds with imaginager. As for my kit costing $30 to make, you honestly don't know anything about producing a kit and the cost's involved do you? That statement right there proves that, the photo etching alone nearly cost that much in each kit. I could break down the actual cost's of that kit and tell you that the price they go for barely breaks even, but if you knew anything about kit production you would know that.

You're thinking recast cost's not actual production costs.

Proven right. Even when quoting myself.

As for REL's attitude I know where this is coming from its coming from when he posted his Enterprise E on a Studio scale forum and it got moved, since it got moved he never came back, at least I dont charge 850.00 for something that only cost 30.00 to make, now who is ripping off whom? how come you same people arent ripping into him for overpricing? just because its Trek makes it right???? I would bet you a 100.00 that if a hurricane hit REL's area he would be one of those people selling a gallon of water to homeless hurricane victims for 100.00 each.
[/b]

Now it's time to blame Rich.
To make matters worse you claim to know what his kit costs. You don't, I do because I have one.

You need to go back to school.

There is one cost, that you forgot.
How many hours do you think Rich has in his model.
In the real world we bill for that.
Even at minimum wage, I'll bet Rich would never break even.
This Guy gives a lot. I know I've bugged him enough. :)
So do a lot of these other guys.

Next thing you know he will want to say something about, "trade Secrets".
Quit reaching for straws and changing your stories.

Do us all a favor, and make like a tree.
