Hey all,

A friend from another board recently visited the Oshkosh Museum where several screen used props and costumes were on display. With his permission I'm posting a few of the Star Wars items for all you Vader, Stormtrooper and lightsaber buffs out there.

Enjoy...

Vader looks like the ESB stunt suit, the tells are the belt and obviously the clear panels in the faceplate cheeks.

Interesting Luke Graflex, looks like a slave unit on top of another tube..... kinda looks like the 'Luke tosses saber' version.

That's a full Graflex, not a slave. There's a wire from the display wrapping around the saber to hold it in place.
A Graflex slave unit doesn't have a button or lens.

Stormtrooper blaster is the one that sold at a Profiles in History auction in 2005 from the Joiner/Kurtz collection. It's a Sterling from Bapty reconverted with parts supposedly found at Bapty. I say "supposedly" because the grips don't match those used on any other screen used props. Scope rail is a replica. Scope is a type only seen once in ANH so the chances of it being screen used is low.

Severed hand is from the same auction.

Edit - The Luke lightsaber and the lightsaber on Vader's belt are from the same 2005 auction. I also doubt the authenticity of both because they have the same weird grips as the Stormtrooper blaster.
The Vader saber is made from Graflex slave unit mounted on top of another flash.

Nice pics!

The stunt suit components are all replicas however. The Paul Allen people didnt want to display just the head and robes. The saber is that ROTJ 'stunt saber' floating around in pics here on the RPF that was auctioned by PIH.

Any good shots of Greedo?

I thought both those sabers looked familiar ! I have pics of both from SDCC in 2005.

With only that one pic of the Graflex I didn't see the support wire. Thanks !

is this a tour?

i'm near st. paul is it coming this way? doh did i miss it? someone send me a link and put me out of my misery.

Whoever assembled that Vader mannequin for display should be *****-slapped. Especially knowing what went into getting the replica parts done and ready to compliment the original pieces. And to display it with a picture of ANH Vader... sometimes you just gotta shake your head. :rolleyes

No comment. :unsure

But I will say that LFL sent people to EMP to see how the SW items were going to be displayed and labelled....so they had to follow certain guidlines from my understanding.

But yeah, they dressed it bad the first time and this is worse. Still, if you see the exhibit in person as a whole it is alot of fun to walk through...although small. If you look at TOS Star Trek thread, all of those costumes/props are part of the same exhibit.
