Wait, isn't the hook on the other hand? The costume looks good.

I've been keeping an eye out on ebay and whatnot for the Fluevogs at a better price, doesn't look like they pop up there, though.

That's true, the good Captain has his hook on his left hand in the show.

Your waistcoat is quite a bit longer than Hook's, but all in all, I think it looks great.

Not bad! I've been looking at doing this for quite a white now. I have the leather to get started on the coat and will hopefully be doing that soon. I was reading the theories on the lining, (the lining being my biggest problem to source right now) It looks like the coat is fully lined, however, the zig zag portion is only in the front facing portion based on this photo I found.

Nice find on the waistcoat closures too by the way! I'm almost inclined to think they might be the brass too.

my bad on the wrong hook/hand lol, for a 2 week project I couldn't have been happier with the results. My mallet is non existent after all the punching and setting for that vest. Wish I snapped more pics but my mind was focused on enjoying a bunch of Kodiak brown ale at the faire.

re-did the belt with lacing/ conchos and also modified the shirt heavily. wore it for a convention recently

thanks, made them myself, whenever I get some more down time I think ill take a crack at the shoulder ones too, then maybe a v2 of the vest in spring, learned so much the first go, I think I could do a way better job taking a second crack at it.

Reviving this thread with new updates fixed the issue of my trim on my vest aswell as the awkward length issue I think it looks loads better, should have more updates as I chug along adding more to this costume

I don't watch Once Upon a Time but my roommate's pretty into it so I'm fairly familiar with some of the costumes, and this is absolutely stunning.

That looks terrific mate! I've got my early hook (the red vest) all done now, just waiting on a couple if commissions for the black vest and belt.

went to a local steampunk con and decided to bring hook lol, heres some pics I found thinking of maybe undertaking the red vest he has aswell to break up all the black he wears

The red vest really does break it up nicely. I have both for mine and just got second in a costume contest for fcdd. Mines not screen accurate and I bought most of the parts for it rather than make it by hand but I'm really pleased with it. Yours looks absolutely terrific!
