Old Universal "JAWS" shark photos

Hi All,

I was digging thru some old photos and came across these.I thought some here might find them useful.

They were taken in approx 1988-9 at an animatronic company in So. Cal that I was doing some sculpting for. Being a fan of Bruce I took the photos.

I was told that this was the shark used at Universal's JAWS ride. The bottom photo shows the mold for the "skin" used on the head. I watched two guys crawl inside the mold as it was stood up on end. They stood back to back and brushed in the rubber skin. One of them tripped and ended up with rubber smeared into his hair! He showed up the next day with a shaved head!:lol

I think I actually have a few pics of the actual JAWS shark somewhere in a photo album, from when I went to Universal studios in florida, back in 2002.

One was... and I know the first shark hanging on the dock was, too. But everything since is a new sculpt. Although they have some lineage to the original molds.

They really stuffed the teeth up on all of them.
