Ok..you've just won the lottery..worth millions..what fanfilm would you make?

I'd make my own film. Most everything that Hollwood is turning out sucks and most (if not all) are not worth the money or effort to be re-made and many of the re-makes of older,"classic" films were deplorable P.O.S insults to the original.Virtually everything seen in any sci-fi, fantasy or action film is plagued with really S&*&%@Y CG. I can't stand how much CG is over used in present day films. However, if I had to choose a fanfilm to be re-made (and remade better) one of them would be SPAWN. I loved the early comic books up to about issue 50 (but that's pushing it),then it went south of cheese.I haven't bought a SPAWN comic book in 10 or 11 years,so I don't know where the story line or plot has gone. The film was a god awful P.O.S plagued with a lousy script and even worse CG at the time. The only parts that were seemless were the two small bits done by ILM at the time and pretty much the cape whenever it was in use on screen. It was an underbudgeted, rushed film and pretty much set up for failure from the get go and it shows on screen.

The HP Lovecraft Trilogy
- Call of Cthulu
- Mountains of Madness
- Case of Charles Dextar Ward

In between the release of each film, there would be short vignettes of some of his short stories which would contain clues to the over-arching mysteries of the movies (like Lost did with it's between-seasons stuff).

The Call of Cthulhu has been done, and in a brilliant way, I might add.

I think I'd like to do a Colonial Marine movie, set in the same time frame as ALIENS but having nothing really to do with the Aliens we know and love. They mentioned going on "Bug Hunts" so lets go do one of those and see a new nasty they have to contend with.

What a fun thread! Some great ideas in here. Here's my list :)

I would love to do something nu-bsg- perhaps the return of the mechanical cylons
something firefly related
Something to do with Captain Nemo (even the KJ anderson book)

I would love to do something with Asimov's foundation series.
a film based on Superman- Secret Identity (kid named Clark Kent in "real" world develops Superman's powers).
Or just a fun Trek or Star Wars fan film- Star Trek Phase 2 sure showed what quality fan films can achieve.

Or idea number 2... I would do a movie where we make first contact with an alien species. They land on earth to solve all our problems, cure cancer, hunger etc. only they look just like the aliens from ALIENS. They fluently speak our language and are all around swell folks but could we be buddies if they looked like the the killer ugly bugs??

Fantastic Four is sorely in need of a proper re-boot, more in line with the current Marvel film continuity. With a far better Thing, Reed actually demonstrating his level of genius and way better powers porn - something more along the line of The Incredibles creative use of powers, which you sadly rarely see in live action adaptations.

Also, I'd finish the season 1 cliff-hanger of one of my favorite shows of all time, Now and Again, which was unceremoniously ripped from the airwaves by Les Moonves. Damn you, CBS!!

Same here. I actually have an idea I would love to do. We know that Cavil's Centurions still were working. And we know that the last Basestar of free-thinking Centurions left Earth a long time ago... What if both showed up, even more advanced and possibly managed to figure out how to do the human variety again, with one side fighting to destroy us and the other fighting to protect us, and human kind as it is now is just being stuck in the middle of it?

I wouldn't finance a fan-film. I'd finance film adaptations of my and my husband's books! ;)

But by doing so, wouldn't that still count as fan films, since you're fans of you and your husband's books?

Ah... Got the gears of your brain turning, don't I?

You have a point, sir! :lol

I would totally give you rep points if I could.

Revisiting this thread, I'd would reconsider finishing TSCC leading to how John Connor become the leader of the resistance and ultimately go the full circle…

I'd arrange to have the "Babylon: Crusade" episode made that dealt with Bester. I'm sure it'd have to be done with a reduced cast, but I'd love to see it happen.

(I'd also love to see the original script for it.)

Star Wars episode 3.5, come on... luke and leia were just born at the end of ROTS and when ANH comes in they are both grown??? what happened in between is pretty amazing in the books and comics

For video game I'd do A Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver film, really Undeworld style / Van Helsing

Soylent Green Remake.

Other would be a Biopic / dual story drama about Wilhelm Reich and his Orgone related research and how it would play out in the world today.

I would pay others NOT to make fan films.

I mean REALLY, out of the 1000s how many were really any good.

Troops and Pink Five.

That's it, the rest I rather slit my wrists than watch a second time.

FANFILMS, really??!?!? That's what you'd do if you won the lottery??!?!?

Nuka Break is pretty good, it just takes forever for new episodes. And my mini nuke will be better.

I would make War of the Worlds set in the 1890's. With YouTube I cuold do the entire book, not just the highlights. Hmm, you could do that with a lot of books. No more "Why did they cut out the best part?"

"Chewie-crantz and Guilden-Solo", a Tom Stoppard style farce of Han Solo and Chewbacca killing time in the Docking bay, the cantina and on the Millennium Falcon, drinking beers, watching the sunset, hitting on women, and waiting for Ben the boy, two droids, and no questions asked.

An animated transformers movie sequel to the 80s cartoon before anymore original cast members die off. A GI Joe: Resolute movie.
