I got my BR Blaster in the mail today, and am extremely happy with it :), so much so that I got a stand for it etc. Not 110% accurate, but it will much more than do for me.

Anyway, I do have a little problem with it.

Unfortunately, the led switch was broken when I opened the box.

There is absolutely no way this could have have happened during shipping, as the packing was very very good.

I can only assume that nobody had a good look at the product before it left the premises.

I have written to Offworld already of course, and have yet to recive a reply.

Has this happened to anyone else here ?

I know their pre-sales service is fenomenal, and they are extremely accommodating, but does anyone know what I may expect as post-sales service ?

Thanks Stefan. Just had a look at the corresponding thread there. Very pleased to note that Offworld replaced free of charge :)

Will keep this updated though.

I bought also an Offworld blaster and everything was fine .
The communikation was also very good in fact that some guys having
different troubles in the last time .
But there was never any bad ending of the story :cool

They are very nice and i think they will ship you an replacement ammo box .
I have read in another topic were an guy bought an metal upper receiver wich has broken on the shipping and they shipped him an new one .

I had troubles with the customs and they helped me out with some tips and emailed invoice !

Hope that helps :)

Ps.: you could try to solder this yourself , no big deal ^^

Oh believe me, I've fixed so many things that arrive a little damaged here & there in the mail. But I never throw a hissy fit or anything. Actually, I enjoy 'restoring' them, so much that I can't even tell with a magnifying glass where the 'damage' originally was.

Electronics ? I'm utterly hopeless !! So on this one, I'm a little concerned at the moment.

I had the exact same problem with mine. I had really good communication with the company prior to shipment. Im sure they will get back with you, just give them a day or two.
I just took it apart, and carefully soldered the switch. It was an easy fix for me, so I didn't bother contacting them about the situation.

You may want to pick up a low wattage solering iron, and some rosin core solder, and practice on some old circuit boards. They are easy to use, just takes a little practice! I would say a soldering iron, and solder are a must for any prop builder! I'm sure there is some stuff on youtube to help get you started.

It looks like you only need to solder the two contacts on the right back together. The third contact on the left is not used. It looks like it was repaired once before. It looks like blobs of solder on the ends of the broken contacts. The one I have the contacts are shorter and go right into the circuit board. Yours may have been a repaired one that broke loose again. Hopefully you can get a replacement, but it looks like it should be an easy fix with a soldering iron.

Yes Jason, I have a soldering iron ... just every time I try to touch something electronic, it seems to disintegrate in my hands and blobs of metal just run all over the circuits like they have a life of their own :lol

Andy, I infact just opened an email from them saying they will replace it. They also suggested I fix it as it is "easy". hmmm, we'll see how this progresses.

Less solder and if you have not already, start using liquid flux. Hope that helps

Am I being too presumtious by thinking the best way for Offworld to do the right thing would be to just send me a replacement part withour asking that I send the broken part back ?

More I think about it, more I feel that at the end of the day, I did not beg for the blaster and got it free, and, bottom line, although not the most expensive model, it isn't cheap by far either.

I think to myself, why on earth should I go through the bother of packing this board up, going to the post office, mailing it, waiting till it gets there, waiting to get one back etc etc ?

I worked in Custome Services for a vast number of years, and at least, that is what I would do.

Well well well.

My faith has been vindicated.

I just got an email from Offworld saying they are mailing me a replacement :)

edit / add - Superb customer service that.
