So when Can we expect the ESB parts to be available?
Will they be Aluminum? Will the grips also be aluminum?

Hi GMB1of12000,
It is hard to tell exactly when the parts will be available. Probably end of September/early October. We are investigating the material for the Kobold clip, maybe aluminum, or maybe nickel plated brass. The T-track grips will be made in plastic, with the option of soft rubber grips or hard grips. I will also have the edge-connector PCB's ready then; they will be incredibly precise!
Please understand that everything is still in early prototype phase and I don't want to sell the bear's skin till it's caught

After a few weeks off, I've picked up the work for the parts. The timing as mentioned before is still the goal. Some parts, like the edge connector, belt clip and D-ring + clip (for the Luke ANH) are ready and almost available.

Good stuff! You should start a new thread to introduce the parts and provide more info on how they were made, how you arrived at the measurements you used, etc. I'd be particularly curious to see some comparison shots of the bubble strips. :thumbsup

Yes, I will do that, hopefully tomorrow when I have some time.
I will describe each item in depth. Right now, I am particularly happy with the T-profile, which I belief is perfect and affordable. The Kobold clip needs some CAD refinement, before I can CNC machine them. I am still doubting if they should be made in Aluminum or painted brass, like the original. What do you guys think?

I hadn't realized the original was painted brass. I'm all for accuracy, so I guess it comes down to how big a cost difference there is.

Also as an aside, I'm bummed to see you went with an "idealized" ANH D-ring strap, especially after you made that great computer model based off of the toe pic. I'll have to keep hunting for one that matches those dimensions you came up with.

You can bet I'll be ordering your Kobold clip when it's ready though! :thumbsup
