"Obviously you're not a golfer"...X-Wing Hockey Helmet

You should do a run of these. :lol

But seriously.

Lol, well when I do my y-wing helmet, I am not going to do the standard helmet.

I know there are people who can make something look EXACTLY like it did in the film, but since my favorite color is blue I just want to see a weathered blue enduced y wing helmet. I am thinking gray with blue accents and desaturated yellow pinstripes and such.

I know there was a blue squadron in the books, so I'm sure someone can tell me there could be such.

Gold leader wore an x-wing helmet :wacko

Yeah I'm assuming that they just had some helmets out and let the actors pick them, or just gave them out haphazardly.

I remember in the behind the scenes of ep. 1 that they were letting the actors pick their lightsabers.

So after a few mess ups, I had to start from scratch.

Bleh...

But I spent last night and tonight (then realizing it was 5 am) doing this all over.

For my first helmet I am fairly happy. There are things I am still learning with the airbrush, like diluting paints and such. This whole thing was cut by hand, except the circle and rebel emblem.

When I get my y-wing helmet, I will have a better understanding of what I need to do.

I will still dab this with a couple of other things tomorrow. But I am hoping that come monday he will be happy.

Re: X-Wing/Y-Wing Star Wars Hockey Helmet - Status: Done?

The chrome facemask has pitted and browned a bit.

I have based it with silver and was going to do clear yellow over it, does anyone have another cool suggestion before I start?

painted the visor...not too happy with it but I'll wait til it dries to mess with it.

Been a whole minute since I posted on this. For my first Helmet this wasn't a total catastrophe.

But I have an understanding of "layers" now. I think I am going to stick with acrylics.

I got my Y-wing Helmet and I will begin assembly this weekend and probably just keep it in this thread.

Anyway I am waiting for him to finish putting in the padding and such, then those will be the final photos.
