Oblivion (Post-release)

it's about the action, not the emotion, i.e. "Blade Runner".

Except that Sean Young conveyed about 1000 times more emotion in Blade Runner than anyone did in TR... and she was a replicant! :lol

I just felt that the whole of Total R suffered from "pretty mannequin syndrome" as so many new actions films do. Just lacked... soul. Oblivion on the other hand was both gorgeous AND had soul in droves.

Just saw this yesterday. Expected a sci-fi action movie from the trailer. Instead I got a min-bender sci-fi. Impressive movie anyways.

Certainly Beckinsale was cold and hard-edged, but she was directed to be that way. I found her presence in that movie more for box-office draw than anything else. She's been over-exposed.

I think Beckinsale was great in Total Recall... she looked hotter than any of the Underworld movies.

Memory wipe was probably in case he was captured by the 'aliens' he couldn't give up any secrets besides his daily routines.

I'm guessing the memory wipe was actually because when they cloned the real Jack Harper they cloned his memories as well, so they had to wipe them out... but he still had residual memories, which he starts to get back. The Tet just whipped up the story about wiping their memories so the Scavs couldn't get any valuable intel from the "clean-up crew".

Then they established the outposts and used the clones for clean up and drone repairs. Two separate groups of clones. Also I think the outpost was number 42, not the clone number.

I was actualy thinking that there were at least 49 other outposts around the world. Each outpost was zoned off by the fake "radiation zone". Once the war was over they placed all their Jack Harper clones everywhere that they could place a water extractor. I seriously doubt there were only two groups. The Tet orbits the planet and makes contact with each of the numerous amounts of techs throughout the day. The Jack Harper that ends up destroying the Tet was the most special because he was the closest to his home and had the most points of reference to his fragmented memories.

That's my take on it anyway.

The 'Jetsons' house was probably to keep them away from the 'aliens' on the surface.

This is funny because there's a scene where the Scavs are standing at the bottom of the spire... they could easily topple that thing. It's not protecting them from anything if it's that vulnerable at the surface.
