First Synopsis for OBLIVION Starring Tom Cruise

I enjoyed Tron: Legacy for its visual experience and for the uber cool soundtrack, but overall still felt underwhelmed by the film. And though I like Tom Cruise, the news of director Joseph Kosinski working on his follow up film didn't really hold my interest in the last few months.

But somehow just reading that brief synopsis has got me little excited now.

Comic book which was also written by Joseph Kosinski and is now being adapted.

Looks good but do we really want Cruise in a post apocalyptic movie? That first image has a slight Fallout 3 feel to it with the monument in ruin.

... of course it's ruined by the SECOND image. :lol

I have to agree about the Tom Cruise sentiment.

The art looks amazing. I wonder if the Federal Government ever thought Raven Rock would be this popular when they built it (it's not that far from my part of PA). If the movie looks as good as the art it might be worth seeing.

Holy crap. I had not even heard about this but if the movie is half as good as those images and the synopsis is spot on then I am in. This looks awesome.

So apparently we got a "The Jetsons" movie that everyone was asking for?

Pass on paying money for anything with Tom 'Scientologist Freak' Cruise for me.

But he has so much range. He can be a secret agent that kicks ass, or a everyday man that kicks ass. Or a hitman who kicks ass.

a big fan of kosinski and was curious to see what his next project would be.just watched the trailer, looks great.

Very pretty. Not a Cruise fan but will get out to the cinema to see this...glad for Kosinski that Tron didn't hold back his career.

I took the skyscrapers-in-waterfall thing as being a metaphor, just for the poster. D'oh!!! So either something very weird has happened, or it's a simulated universe, Matrix-style?

Trailer doesn't give a way a few big things, like the huge pyramid exploding in orbit in the production art. I thought that might be a revisit of the Death Star 2 thing, expressly addressing the issue of catastrophic damage on the ground below. Hope so, haha!
