Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boots?

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Il check that scene out. It doesn't look that hard to build so that may be my only option.

I think that like everything else in the tower except the decoration, it was built from scratch. There's a really good shot of the piece in the Medkit Deleted Scene on the Blu-ray. Doesn't look that hard to build.

Thanks. Just checked their site out but found nothing unless I was looking at the wrong place.

I know I've seen something very similar if not that exact setup before at Scandinavian Designs.

Like Rebelscum said, it's probably a scratch built, but you can find many similar styles if you type in "ultra modern sectional" on google :thumbsup

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

I found some transparent foldable bottles that I want to covert to Oblivion bottles. I haven't located the bottle cap with tether connector, is there anyone know where to find it?

Spent some time on holiday trying to create the artwork for the water bottle, here's what I have so far. If you see something I don't, you're welcomed to chime in. :) Don't mind the font, size and/or placement, just a quick draft to write down what I can make out.

I plan to print them on clear stickers so you can apply onto the bottle (I'm thinking giving them out only taking postage since this is just a fun side project for me).

Actually if you're good with techno-babble you're invited to invent some stuff to put on the bottle as well. :D

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Here's my latest attempt. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestion for the icon and words.

The transparent bottle/pouch came with a white stripe on the back, seller made a mistake, I tried to put the graphic on with water transfer sticker but messed up the clear coat. So I just put the sticker on top and took a snapshot to see the effect.

I plan to get them as normal transparent stickers since water transfer can be a problem. I'll offer people my extra bottles and stickers at cost when I made the stickers.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

I see a few issues with the alignment and scale of some copy. For example the "038" should be larger. Let me know if you need any help with the graphics.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Hey Kevin. I found some oblivion bottles with the tether connector on them. Actually posted a comment in this thread [page 4 for a pic]. It has Oblivion on it as u can see in the pic but I think this could prob be removed if u want. I can get 6 of these and they come with the little carbiner clip as well.

Let me know if you want one. I'm keen for a completed bottle. also there was a member on here who actually made the screen pistols or rifles. Thinking maybe send him a PM. he might know more about the text on the bottle.

I agree with solinteria with the 038 size. I also think the font is wrong. Looks like your 8 should be flipped around. Also the blue numbers like the 3 and 4 look wrong. Should have flat edges, not pointy. Hope I'm helping.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Yes I saw the promotional bottle but it is not closer than what I have right now, and I dunno how easy it is to remove the printed words. I'm not sure about the "8" direction, I just traced the picture posted by Soulinertia which came from designer for the film.

I've enlarged the 038 and added some content in the circle. Check it out.

Jeremy, I'd appreciate your help, do you want me to send you the file?

Yeah sure, happy to help!

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Here are the boot cover templates. Sorry this isn't more technical. I just took some quick progress pics when I was making them. These are each placed on an 11 x 17" sheet of paper for scale. The shapes aren't exact, bit it will at least give you a good starting point.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

looks good soulinertia. Is the 3 correct or should the edges be flat like the 8? the prop bottle a twist top n not a pop top so maybe the lid is scratch built from the pop top pieces? Beening searching for a suitable lid but no luck so far

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Soulinertia, what color boots did you end up going with? I'm still leaning toward the sage boots, rather than painting/dying the sand boots.

Btw...I've got an order in with Leathers Club for the pants. They worked with me on the jacket to at least get a good base. I've since added the chest and shoulder armor. It's not a product like Kevin's jacket, but I'm happy. I'm optimistic that we'll eventually get similar results on the pants. They sent me some pictures and I've asked for some changes, which they're working on.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

I went with the advertised greenish-sage color, they are actually gray to the naked eye. I'm looking for a similar color of suede to make the final boot covers.

Re: Oblivion (2013) - Costume Found Object - ID The goggles, tactical gloves and boot

Can someone tell me, regarding the Leatherman Skeletool, what is the difference between the 830846, 830948, 830850 CX, 830851 CX, 830866 CX, and 830950 CX, etc.?

I know Philip, you said the 830866 is the right one, but why all the different models? I looked at pics of the 830866 and I didn't see the little groove cut out in the blade that is there on the screen-used. I just want to make sure I'm getting the right one.

First... I could be wrong on it, but I spent quite a bit of time comparing them and that's what I ended up with. I think cx is the blade material, which we can see on the prop blade. I think that eliminates all the non cx models.

I don't know what little groove in the blade you're asking about. The 830866 cx blade matches the prop exactly. (holding it in my hand, comparing to the prop photo)

I just noticed an answer to a question about differences on Amazon that might help. Looks like models change based on packaging alone. 830866 -> in a gift box. Quoted below:

Skeletool® CX in a Clamshell (830850), or in a Gift Box (830851), OR with a Nylon Sheath in a Box (830950), or a Gift Box (830866), No Sheath/ Box (830849).

Thanks Philip.

I'm talking about this notch on the bottom part of the blade (sharp edge) closest to the pivot point.

Vs. this
4-leatherman-skeletool-cx-multitool.jpg

and yet another version that has the 4th hole, but still no groove on the bottom.

Skeletool_CX_Blade.jpg

The blades are different. the screen used has 4 holes in the blade, the cx has 3. the screen used has a notch at the back bottom, the cx does not.

Doing some more research on it last night, it looks like they may have just recently updated the blade design. google turned up some older pictures of the cx that match what you probably have. So it looks like the accurate ones are no longer available new.

That update must be the reason for it as my blade has the notch.

There's tons on ebay and amazon, it's just whether or not you actually get what's pictured or the newer version.
