Nuka-Cola (Fallout 3) Bottle replica: Ideas please!

We have a larger Hispanic population in NJ, and as a result a greater number of stores that cater to that demographic. :)

Oh i have no doubt that if i went to Youngstown or Pittsburgh I'd find them. I'm amazed walmart doesn't have them considering how large their international food section is.

I just got mine from a Kowalski's, a local market. I used the 8 oz ones too, but I actually upscaled the labels a bit. Currently working on a Quantum, and I'll post pictures when I'm all finished.

I'm naming my little 8 inch ones "Tacticals" as a nuclear weapon joke lol. I need to empty a beer bottle or two to make a replica of the ones in the game.

I was going to make a label so it looks like that stuff the bootlegger in NV is making. Plus it's an excuse to have a beer.

Ah, I don't have NV. I really like Fallout 3, though, so I might end up getting it.

I'm kinda hankering to make some more of these props, but I don't need another Nuka-Cola. Any ideas on another easy prop from the game? I was thinking about doing the 10mm or the .32 Hunting Rifle, but those are both fairly unrecognizable as being from a video game, as compared to the instantly recognizable Nuka-Cola, anyway.

I'm planning on doing more but i have my plate so full now lol. I'm slowly getting parts for a life sized robobrain. Sadly the brains show in the robots are WAY bigger than human brains despite them being taken from prisoners before the war so i guess mine will be real world accurate lol.

I am surrounded by a whole bunch of little great Mexican groceries. I would grab you one but if you throw in shipping it would still be around 8 dollars I'm guessing

Give me a week or so and i'll let you know. i'm just waiting for my bank account to even out lol. they want 6.00 to ship a 2.50 bottle of it on amazon and its like 20.00 for a 6 pack. it's nuts.

I was kinda thinking about doing some propaganda posters for Vault-Tec. I really wanna do power armor, but that's not happening, lol. Is there anything else small like that bottle which could work fairly well? I can't really think of anything right now.

I don't know if anyone follows this tread anymore, but you could make a replica of the rocket souvenirs from NV. It could be filled with water mixed with green food coloring, and you could hook up several LEDs inside it to make it glow. I don't have any screenshots of the rocket, so I got the pic off the wiki here. If anyone does make one, post some pics please. Thank you in advance.

I don't know if anybody's still interested in making Nuka-Cola bottle caps or not, but there's a company called Crafty Caps that already has a Nuka-Cola logo uploaded (or you can upload your own) so you can order a bunch of custom-printed bottle caps for surprisingly cheap.

Wow, thats a pretty neat website. I was just thinking about Nuka Cola the other day since my local super market got a huge shipment of Coca Cola in the accurately sized bottles. They blatantly call it "Mexican Coca Cola" on the self. Something doesn't seem very PC about that.

Have you actually seen caps from this website? Something tells me that their final product looks like this, which is too bad the sides of the cap are silver and not red. Works good for the sunset caps though.

I haven't seen a finished product myself, no. I saw the site linked somewhere, possibly on Wasteland Outpost, a Fallout-specific replica makers site.
I've been doing a lot of poking around, getting ideas for a Halloween costume and it's all kind of run together, to be honest.

Apropos of nothing, that's a cool Mentats tin.

It would probably work better if you found someone with an Alps printer to print out the Nuka Cola logo on clear decal paper. Then apply the decals to red bottlecaps. Once you put clear gloss over top it should look like it was part of the cap.

So I was at Rudy's BBQ today in Round Rock, TX when I saw some half liter Mexican Coke bottles in the cooler. I snagged one and with a little elbow grease, got myself a clean blank canvas to make a Nuka-Cola bottle. The glass cleaned up perfectly with the application of some hot water and a hobby knife blade, and with the thicker paint, it took about 20 minutes. I'll make some labels later this week, (probably QuanTum) and see if I can get a good looking bottle. Sorry for the crappy HUGE cell phone pic, the camera's not at the house.
EDIT:
Mocked up some prototype labels. Used Blue Hawaiian Punch Until I can make the Blacklight base and then the liquid will be blue tinted Quinine water.

So I made up another one of these tonight for a buddy, and when I came through the thread to find the images (I didn't have an original image for the Nuka Cola, just my resized ones), I figured I'd spend a few quiet minutes reading a great old thread which was probably the main reason I got into the hobby in the first place.

I realized I never posted some finished photos. So, here are a few of my finished pictures of my personal Nuka Cola and Nuka Cola Quantum bottles in my ever-expanding Fallout collection.

I also installed a LED in a wooden base to light up the Quantum:

They really are fun little props.
