Hi all,

I have been browsing like a maniac since signing up here and my head is swimming!
After looking and searching through tons of posts and all of your amazing work, I want to take a stab at making some Starship Troopers stuff in foam.

A Morita, and definetely the armor, screen used armor wearing a metric ton and all.

So I was hoping to find some tips hints etc on how to starthow to practice and where to learn.

Things I am not sure of, glueing the foam, cutting the foam, sealing painting weathering the foam, etc...

If I put this in the wrong forum, or didn't use search enough my humble apologies, but I am eager to start and learn, you ALL have inspired the heck out of me!

Thanks!

There are 4 foam iron man builds that i know of going on right now in this forum, including mine. Check those out. There are also some gears of war builds as well, look for those.

If you go with the ozark camping mats (found at wal-mart), all you need is an xacto knife and a hot glue gun to get started.

Search away, and good luck!

I have been hitting them all, was just concerned that I might need some basics before just jumping in. I am going to go with Wally world matte and just go for it on something easy and see what happens.

Thanks peeps! :)

The basics are all in those threads.

Camping mats can be cut with utility knives and exactos, and can be joined with hot glue. The rest is just getting a sense for the material and how it behaves. So go get some and play around with it. See what you come up with!
