Thanks guy,

The one on the left, in the top pic is the first one I made. I did a couple changes in the second one.

Well, I tell you what... you can set this for a max of 999 days.
The battery last for it last at least a week. 5 mins. on the charger gives it another 2 days.

Would anyone like to see the insides? I can post a pic if anyone is interested.

Yeah I would be interested.

Cool. See if you can "slide" to a dimension that has the complete Sliders TV series released on DVD and grab me a copy. :)

Maybe I can slide to a world where season 4&5 didn't stink.

BTTF Delorean Project,
I'm making a bunch this week, I'll grab some photos of the electronics before I put them together and post them then.

As far as the phones..... call me old, but I still like the style. I hate these new, tiny, cram in your ear phones they have now days.

Well the first 2 seasons are in a special box set at Wal-mart for $19.99. Not a bad price for 2 seasons of TV. :)

these were motorola phones. right?

what was the model and year of these phones? i see ones occasionally like this around at garage sales here where im at. if i knew what model number and such, i might score a real phone to make into a sliders convertion.

The phone is the MicroTAC Ultralite, not sure of the year. It comes in two colors, BTW. You don't want the darker one, which was a special edition AFAIK. I got stuck with one of those from an ebay auction that used the picture of the lighter color phone, but I did manage to get the correct color as well.

Jim

Capt.,

You are correct. The MicroTac Ultra lite is the phone they used for the prop and it was the light grey color.
The two pictured I made are made from the actual phones. I also made molds of the casings so I can make replicas from those if I have to. I'm also molding them in color so there is no paint to wear off. The hard part is reproducing the correct grey color. .....uhgg.

Re: No, No,..I didn't say he WAS a 2 timer....

Just wondering where you found the correct size black boxes? Tim

Re: No, No,..I didn't say he WAS a 2 timer....

Please take me as your apprentice. I've wanted to work on timers (not just the original) for a while now, but I just don't have the electronics knowledge (mostly the programming).

Any tips would be super appreciated.

Re: No, No,..I didn't say he WAS a 2 timer....

so scooter, can you post some pics of the inside of your timer for all to see that would be awsome

Re: No, No,..I didn't say he WAS a 2 timer....

I think you misunderstood. I do not have a timer ATM. I have the original bodies (the moterola phone, 2 remotes, and the genisis controller), but that's all for now. Not parts, not electronics.

Re: No, No,..I didn't say he WAS a 2 timer....

Ahh yes. These are the Timers being 'sold' on MySpace but I'm not even sure anyone got one. :confused

I wanted one. I still want one! However at the time of asking I was quoted $800, which was a little rediculous. I can afford that now but the video of the Timer working showed some electronic display inaccuracies that I'd want sorted before forking out that kind of money! :lol
