NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *NEW LED's* 12-21 pg.21

I glued the soles back together and photoshopped the top white part to show what it will look like all cleaned up:

When you make a wearable one, make sure you drop me a line Brad, I'm on the VIP list :thumbsup

Re: NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *STRAP DONE!* 12-12 p

Hey Brad, what inverter are you using? I got the one that MTB recommended and it's tiny but STILL won't fit in the sole without sticking up too much. Also, the el sheet is nowhere near bright enough when under the side of the soles. There's no way in hell you could make them wearable and reliable with the electronics. I think I'm just gonna save up and buy a real pair for wearing..

Can't you wear the real pair you have now?

I use that small inverter. I forget the name.

My EL sheet shows up brighter in pics but it is still pretty bright.

I could but I want to keep them mint do only wearing to indoor events etc. I want a pair that I can wear without thinking.

Would you mind posting a circuit diagram Brad? If I wore up the inverter before the resisters to power the el tape, won't it be too much power before the resisters and blow them? And if I power tr inverter after the resisters it won't be enough..? I'm no expert here, but it would be great if you could post some real life pics and a circuit diagram, would you mind?

Here ya go:

Cheers Brad, much appreciated. Having sat down with that diagram and done a test circuit, I can see why nobody can HONESTLY say that these are to be worn. Sure, a few steps for a YouTube vid but there's no way these could be made using these replica shoes for real use. I'll see how I get on, but to be honest I may just keep them for display once done and wait for prices to drop on Mags and get a wearable pair.

I can NOW see why MTB and Pitbull are hiding away from these conversions now, wow! Top work guys when there was no info around to help.

Re: NIKE, you can go to hell. I'm making my own NIKE MAG's *STRAP DONE!* 12-12 p

Ok picture this..

I have 3 LEDs and they require 17ohm of resistance. They lit up fine on their own on the other shoe, that I'm ok with.

I have another set of 3 LEDs and the same 17ohm resistance. I link up the el inverter before the resisters and flick the switch. El tape lights up perfectly but NOT the LEDs. Does this mean either the resisters and/or LEDs are faulty, or do you need to modify the resistance when adding the el inverter before the resisters..? I wouldn't have thought you would as the el is simply taking its feed before any resistance occurs for the LEDs. Hmm..

Do not run the LEDs from the inverter. Run the wires directly from the battery to the LEDs. See my diagram.

Wow I'm famous ;-) lol. Cool vid, always wondered how things were put together on the test shoe. It's satisfying getting the circuit going for the first time isn't it! Can't wait to get these el pieces working over the next few days.

You're IN-famous. ;)

I will be doing an RPF members Nike Mag conversion soon. Adding all 24 LED's, two EL sheets and my ankle bubble. Along with repainting.

OK. 3 things.

1) I burnt the hell out of my fingers trying to test filling the ankle bubbles with hot glue
2) Learned that it won't work.
3) Started my real FINAL shoe!

I had bought some new LED's because I wasn't happy with the way the yellow was TOO bright and the green was TOO dim.

Here are the new LED's and new ankle bubble:

LOL! Thanks. It's healing great though. I still have the blisters but no pain, swelling or redness.

That pain is worth taking when they turned out like this. Make sure you use the other hand when you do the other shoe so you have symmetrical burns :lol

Sweet as :thumbsup
